2. Choose The Avocadoes Depending On Time Of Consumption:

Once the avocadoes are plucked, they start to ripen pretty fast. If you want to give it to your baby soon after purchasing, get one that is already ripe and will be ready for your baby to eat. If you are planning to feed it to your baby some after you purchase it, go for ones that are only partially ripe.

3. Storing Avocadoes:

If you store the avocadoes in the fridge, it will stop the ripening process. So, if you have bought an avocado which is partially ripe, and if you store it in the fridge, the avocado will not be fit enough for consumption by your baby. Once it is ripe, you can store it in the fridge.

  • 3 ripe avocadoes
  • 3 steamed pears
  • 3 ripe bananas
  • Yogurt

Directions:

  • Make sure that you first remove all the seeds from the fruits.
  • Peel all the fruits and cut them in big pieces. Put it all together in a food processor and blend it till it forms a smooth consistency.
  • Add about a tsp of yogurt and blend it again.
  • If your baby has started chewing, you can skip the blending process. Instead, dice up the fruits in small cubes and serve with a tsp of yogurt added on top.

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 mango

Directions:

  • Clean both the avocado and the mango and remove the seed from inside.
  • Cut up both the fruits into small cubes and mash it together.
  • You can add a little water, breast milk or even yogurt to make it smoother.

  • Crushed cheerios or wheat germ
  • Toast, cereal or crackers

Directions:

  • Peel the ripe avocado and cut it into small cubes. Mash it properly using a fork.
  • Now add the cream cheese and blend it with the avocado to get a smooth consistency.
  • Add the crushed cheerios or wheat germ to the blend and make it into small balls.
  • Alternatively, you can spread the avocado mix on the toast or the crackers.

  • 1 avocado
  • Fresh apples or unsweetened apple sauce

Directions:

  • Cut the avocado in half and mash it in a bowl with the help of a fork.
  • Add ½ a cup of the unsweetened apple sauce to the bowl and mix it all nicely.
  • Alternatively, if you will be using fresh apples for the recipe, boil the apples in advance and let them cool to room temperature.
  • Now add the cool apple to a food processor along with the avocadoes. Blend it all together and create a nice and soft consistency.

  • Chicken breast
  • Half of an avocado
  • Olive oil

Directions:

  • Cut the chicken breast in small pieces and boil it in water. Let it cool down to room temperature.
  • Place the chicken breast in the food processor and blend it to a puree form.
  • Cut out the flesh of the avocado and add it to the chicken. Add the olive oil and blend it all together to get a smooth consistency.

You Will Need:

  • ½ cup of cooked rice
  • Avocado
  • Steamed cauliflower
  • Olive oil

Directions:

  • Take half of the avocado and 1/3rd of the cauliflower and mash it all together.
  • In a bowl, place the mashed cauliflower and the mashed avocado mix. Add the cooked rice to the bowl and mix everything together.
  • Add about a tsp of olive oil to mix the ingredients well and to make it smooth.
  • You can mash it nicely and give to your baby, or blend it well in a food processor before feeding.

7. Avocado And Tofu:

  • Half of an avocado
  • A small lime
  • ½ cup of tofu
  • Olive oil – optional

Directions:

  • Place the avocado and the tofu in a food processor and blend it well to form a chunky consistency. Make sure it does not turn absolutely soft.
  • Cut the lime in half, squeeze out the juice and add it to the mix.
  • You can also add about half a tsp of olive oil to the mix to make it creamier and smoother to taste.

8. Avocado And Sweet Potato:

You Will Need:

  • 1 avocado
  • 1 sweet potato

Directions:

  • Peel the avocado and take out the flesh part.
  • Bake the sweet potato in the microwave for about one hour, or till it turns tender. Make sure you keep the skin on while baking it.
  • Once the sweet potato turns tender, take it out of the microwave and let it cool down.
  • Remove the skin and add it in a bowl, along with the avocado. Mash it all together to form a soft consistency and feed your baby.

9. Avocado, White Beans And Chicken:

You Will Need:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 can of white beans
  • Steamed chicken
  • Milk

Directions:

  • Cut the ripe avocado in half and mash it in a bowl.
  • Take about a third of the white beans from the can and add it to the bowl. Mash it along with the avocado but do not make the texture too smooth.
  • Now add about 1/3rd cup of the steamed chicken to the bowl and mix it all well.
  • Add a little milk to the mix, so that it blends in together and makes the mix creamier.

10. Avocado And Banana Creamy Mix:

You Will Need:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1 banana

Directions:

  • Peel the avocado and remove the seed from the middle. Now take the flesh out and mash it in a bowl with the help of a fork.
  • Peel the banana and add it to the avocado. Mash it again with the avocado.
  • You can feed it to your baby as it is or blend it further in a food processor depending on what will be more suitable for your baby as per age.

11. Guacamole:

  • 1 ripe avocado
  • Wheat germ or crushed cheerios
  • A pinch of garlic powder and basil
  • Whole milk yogurt

Directions:

  • Peel the avocado and remove the seed from the center.
  • Take the flesh out of the avocado and mash it in a bowl with the help of a fork.
  • Now add the wheat germ or the crushed cheerios and mix well. Add the garlic powder and the basil and mix it all in.
  • Next, add a little whole milk yogurt and keep mixing it all together, so that you get a smooth and creamy consistency.
  • You can serve it as it is in the form of guacamole, or let your baby use it as a dip with fruits or steamed vegetables.

12. Avocado With Banana And Pumpkin:

You Will Need:

  • ½ cup of pumpkin puree – you can use canned pumpkin puree or make it fresh at home
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 ripe peach

Directions:

  • Peel the outer layer of the avocado and remove the seed from the center. Take the flesh out in a bowl and mash it with the help of a fork.
  • Peel the skin of the pear and take out the seed. Dice it into small cubes.
  • If you feel the peach is very hard, you can steam it for some time till it turns tender. Set it aside and let it cool down to room temperature.
  • Now add the peach and the avocado to a food processor and blend. Add the pumpkin puree and blend it all again.

13. Avocado And Melon Mix:

You Will Need:

  • ½ of an avocado
  • 1 small cantaloupe melon
  • A dash of freshly squeezed ginger juice – optional

Directions:

  • Take the skin off the cantaloupe melon and add the flesh in a bowl.
  • Peel the avocado and remove the seed from the center. Take the flesh out and add it to the bowl along with the cantaloupe melon. Mash it all together.
  • If you have introduced ginger to your baby, you can add just a dash of ginger juice to give it some added flavor. This is one of the yummy avocado recipes for baby.

14. Avocado Tropical Food Mix:

  • ½ of an avocado
  • ½ of a small banana
  • ½ of a papaya
  • ½ of a kiwi
  • 1/4th cup of natural and unflavored yogurt
  • A drop of maple syrup – optional

Directions:

  • Remove the skin of the avocado and take out the seed from the center. Dice the flesh out into small cubes.
  • Peel the banana and cut it up into small slices.
  • Peel the papaya and cut it up into small slices.
  • Add all the fruits to a bowl and add the yogurt and maple syrup.
  • If your baby is eating this as part of a first food, first add the fruits in a food processor and blend them well. Once you get the desired consistency, add the maple syrup and the yogurt.

15. Avocado With Kiwi And Banana:

  • ½ of an avocado
  • ½ of a ripe banana
  • ½ of a ripe kiwi
  • 1/8th cup of cream cheese
  • Pineapple juice

Directions:

  • Peel out the skin of the avocado and take the seed out from the center. Now take out the flesh of the avocado and dice it up into small pieces.
  • Peel the banana and slice it up into small pieces.
  • Cut up the kiwi into small slices.
  • Add the banana slices and the kiwi slices in a bowl or place it in the food processor to make into a creamy consistency.
  • Add the cream cheese and the avocado to the sliced fruits or the smoothie version.
  • Now add just a little pineapple juice to the mix so that it all forms a smooth and creamy consistency. This is the best avocado recipe for baby.

16. Avocado With Baked Potato:

You Will Need:

  • ½ of an avocado
  • 1 medium white potato
  • 1/4th cup of natural yogurt
  • 1 tsp fresh chopped chives

Directions:

  • Prick the potato and bake it along with its skin for about one hour to almost two hours, till it turns absolutely tender.
  • Set it aside and let it cool down to room temperature.
  • In the meanwhile, peel the avocado and take the seed out from its center. Take the flesh out and mash it in a bowl. Add the yogurt to the avocado and mix it all together again.
  • Now split the potato in half and spread the avocado and yogurt mix on top.
  • Sprinkle the chives and let your baby eat it. Make sure the potato is absolutely cool before you give it to your baby.

17. Avocado Soup:

You Will Need:

  • 3/4th cup of homemade vegetable stock
  • 1 ripe avocado
  • 1/4th cup of milk – you can also use breast milk or formula milk, whatever your baby is used to
  • A sprinkle of fresh and chopped coriander

Directions:

  • Peel the skin of the avocado and remove the seed from the center. Take the flesh of the avocado in a bowl and mash it well with the help of a fork.
  • Warm up the vegetable stock and add it little by little to the mashed avocado. Keep stirring and mixing together till you reach a smooth consistency. Now add more of the vegetable stock to turn the mix into a soupy consistency.
  • Now add the milk and keep stirring it together again.
  • Sprinkle the chopped coriander on the top and make sure to check the temperature of the soup before you give it to your baby. It should only be slightly warm and not hot.

Mixing Options With Avocado For Your Baby:

Here are some delicious other ingredients that will go great with avocado and add more taste to your baby’s meal:

  • Potato
  • Apples
  • Summer squash

  • You can make a simple mash using avocado as the main ingredient and use it as a dip for various finger foods. You can also let your baby has it as a dip along with freshly sliced fruits or vegetables.
  • You can add the avocado mash on toast or on crackers, or even on small pieces of tortilla. You can also use it as a spread on bagels or toasted strips of bread.
