10 Food Recipes To Help Your Baby Start On Solids

1. Broccoli, Tomato, and Almond Mix

Steam two florets of broccoli till it becomes tender and blend it with 25gm of ground roasted almonds and two tablespoons of chopped tomatoes. Add salt to taste and see your baby enjoy the wholesome goodness of broccoli and almonds.

2. Eggy Bread

If you are going out on important work and want your baby to not be hungry till you get back home, try this great stand-by meal. Take a slice of bread and remove the brown edges. Cut it into finger-size portions. In another pan, beat an egg till it becomes fluffy and smooth. You may add salt/ sugar to taste. Shallow fry it in butter till it becomes crisp. Serve this with boiled vegetables or cut fruits as per taste.

3. Lentils with Orange

Keep aside a cup of cooked lentils whenever you are making soup for yourself. Pour 50ml of orange juice in it. Stir in both together and keep it on a low flame. Garnish it with cinnamon (1/4 spoon).

Bananas, a storehouse of nutrients, are always the first choice of mothers who feed their young ones. Cook two tablespoon oats in 150ml of milk (soymilk/cow milk) and add the puree of one banana to it. Mix well, and a delicious creamy porridge is ready.

For this, you would need 100gm of skinless, deboned salmons or non-oily fish such as cod or haddock. Add one, small sweet potato and about ten florets of broccoli. Cook the broccoli and sweet potato in a pan until they are tender. Cook the fish in another pan. Mix them well and add 100ml of milk for the right consistency to feed your little one. 9. Sardine and Avocado Spread

Take two drained sardines in oil and mash them. Keep them aside. Mash avocado with a fork and slowly mix this into the sardine. Add one teaspoon of lemon juice, and you have a dish rich in calcium, vitamin C, and omega-3 fatty acids.

Cook about 200gm of lamb mince in a non-stick pan in low flame till it is brown. The lamb should cook in no additional oil. Drain the excess fat once it is done. Grate one apple and add it to 100ml of unsweetened apple juice and cook until till it is soft. Mix some mashed potatoes and try this meat- fruit combo that all babies love.
