• A big barrel full of water

• 15 to 20 apples

How To:

1. Fill the big barrel full of water

2. Place apples in the barrel

3. Challenge your teen friends to pick the apples up without using their hands

1. Divide teens at your Halloween party into pairs.

3. Halloween night candy hunt

• Lots of candies

How To:

1. Place candies at different places outside your house.

2. Once it is dark outside, tell teens at your Halloween party to go out on a nighttime candy hunt, which is the same as a scavenger hunt.

3. Develop paper chits out of the sheets and put the paper chits in a bowl.

5. Whichever teen loses in each round has to pick up a random chit from the bowl and perform the mentioned ‘dare’ in it.

5. Hit the streets

How To:

1. You and all your friends should dress up in spooky costumes at the Halloween party and plan to scare people on the streets.

4. You can play spooky music if you are carrying a portable music player.

You Will Need:

• Some horror movie DVDs or a collection on a pen drive.

How To:

1. Dim the lights.

2. Get all the teens to sit in a group

3. Play some scary, spooky movies on your DVD.

Amy, a mother of three, keeps her Halloween parties for kids fairly simple and tries to arrange everything without stressing herself out. She involves her children in the invitation-making process, much to their glee. Describing the party, she writes, “We played a few new games and I recycled some from last year. We played ‘witch, witch, ghost’ instead of ‘duck, duck, goose.’ Then we played hot potato with a spider.

“I made a witch’s hat ring toss… I filled some recycled jars with candy and had them guess how many there were. And did a little mummy bowling with our recycled bowling pins. I taped gauze and googly eyes onto them and used a black foam pumpkin for the bowling ball… I had prizes for the games and sent everyone home with a Halloween ring pop (i).”

Scary Halloween Games For Tweens

Here are some exciting Halloween party games for tweens that will make the Halloween party truly memorable.

1. Murder mystery

• Paper
• Pen

How To:

1. Create a gripping story, character list and solution to the murder mystery. Do not tell the kids about it.

2. Now assign the kids a part in the story and hide the clues around the house.

3. Tell the tweens to act their role and figure out the murder mystery together. It cannot get spookier.

2. Worm bobbing

You Will Need:

• Whipped cream
• Gummy worms, 5 per player
• Empty plates, one per player
• Table and chairs

How To:

1. Place 5 gummy worms on the plate and cover with whipped cream. You need to do this for each player.

2. Tie the hands of the players lightly with a scarf.

3. As you say, “go,” the players must pull the worms from the plate and place them on the table.

4. The tween who puts the fifth worm first will be the winner.

3. Scarecrow race

• A pile of old clothes for the skeleton to wear, like gloves, flannel shirts, straw hats and so on.
• Wrapped candy to reward the winning team

Scarecrows have long been associated with the boogeyman, a mythical creature who frequently appears dressed in ragged attire. Scarecrows might deter birds from eating crops in a superstitious agrarian society, but they may also scare kids away from fields where odd things might be hiding. (2)

1. Split the teams into 2 to 4 teams. Let them choose which kid they would want to dress as scarecrows. The scarecrow has to stand a few feet from the team.

2. Now the teams have to dig through the pile, find the appropriate items of clothing and run to dress the scarecrow.

3. The players have to move back and forth until their scarecrow is dressed.

4. The team that dresses the scarecrow first will be the winner.

4. Ghost bingo

• Bingo cards
• Halloween related images, black cat, a bat, ghost, witch, pumpkin and so on

How To:

1. Make a Halloween-special Bingo card, but place a Halloween picture instead of numbers. You can also get the children to draw the images.

2. Now hands each player a copy of the bingo template.

3. If someone gets a bingo, he has to yell ‘boo.’

5. Witch’s relay

You Will Need:

• 2 broom
• A group of kids

How To:

1. Create a starting and ending point in the playing area.

2. Now split the kids into two teams and tell each team to line in a single file.

3. Now give the broom to the first player in the team.

4. The first team player has to run around the playing area flying on his broom. Then he has to pass the broom to the second player and then stand at the end of the line.

5. Continue the game until all the tweens get the chance to fly on the broom.

6. Cornholes

• Tabletop Cornhole Board
• Black Acrylic Paint
• 1/4″ double sided tape
• Silver Glitter
• Toy Spider
• Corns

How To:

1. Paint the cornhole board back and create a spider web design using a black tape.

2. Spread silver glitter over the entire board. Brush off the excess glitter.

3. Apply a coat of garnish to prevent the glitter from falling.

4. Affix a spider on the cornhole.

5. Now have the kids toss the corn into the cornhole.

6. The child who throws the maximum amount of corn in one minute will be the winner.
