Once the news of your pregnancy breaks, one of the first questions that pop up in your mind is the gender of the baby. You are eager to know whether it is a boy or a girl, not just to ease your curiosity but also to make preparations at home.

You need to wait for your first ultrasound scan to know the gender, if gender prediction is not banned in your country. In countries where doctors are not allowed to reveal such information, you need to wait until the end of your pregnancy.

This is when gender prediction methods, such as boy or girl prediction charts, come into play. Prominent among them is the ancient Chinese gender predictor, or the Chinese boy or girl gender chart.

How to select the baby gender/conceive a boy or girl?

Find a suitable period for conception based on your age. To improve the chances, check for the period when the baby’s gender remains same for about two months. The above chart would help you to find the period. According to this chart, you will conceive a girl if your date of birth and time of conception are both odd or even. You will conceive a boy if one date is even and the other odd.

For instance, if you are planning to get pregnant at the age of 20, try conceiving in between the months April to September, or November to December to conceive a boy. The baby’s gender shows the same for these consecutive months.

Also, if your date of birth is 3 (odd number) and time of conception is May (5 - odd number), you are more likely to have a girl. If your date of birth is 6 (even number) and time of conception is January (1 - odd number), it is a boy.
