Right from the days of ‘Old McDonald had a farm’, domesticated animals have always been the object of adulation for the youngest members of society. Of the many animals on the farm, bovines like the cow and bull are some of the kiddies most favorites. So, if your preschooler, kindergartener insists on having a cow or bull in your backyard, you can encourage his interest by teaching him some interesting bull and cow crafts.

Easy Bull And Cow Crafts For Kids:

1. Felt Cow Craft:

You Will Need:

  • Fabrics of different colors, such as white, black, and pink fabrics
  • White felt
  • Scissors
  • Toy stuffing
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Wiggle eyes
  • Glue

How To:

  1. Fold the white fabric into two halves and help your kindergartner to draw a picture of cow’s body on the top of the cloth.
  1. Cut two identical images of cow’s body out of the white cloth using a pair of scissors and sew both of the pictures with the help of a needle and thread. Leave a little gap while sewing the body.
  1. Insert some toy stuffing through space and sew the hole well.
  1. Now, draw and cut two similar pieces of cow’s face out of the white felt using the scissors and sew them leave out a small space for the stuffing.
  1. Put in the stuffing and sew the gap. Now, place the face over the cow’s body and sew the two parts correctly.
  1. Cut small patches out of the black fabric and sew them on the cow’s body.
  1. Get small pieces of pink cloth and sew them on the face and ears of the domestic animal.
  1. Glue a pair of wiggle eyes at an appropriate place on the cow’s face.

2. Paper Plate Cow Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A paper plate
  • Card papers of yellow, red and light brown colors
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • White and brown food colors
  • A paint brush

How To:

  1. Paint the paper plate brown entirely by using the brown watercolor and paint brush.
  1. Teach your child to draw the mouth of a cow on the red card paper, and cut it out using the scissors.
  1. Draw horns on the yellow paper and ears on the light brown paper and cut them out.
  1. Paste the mouth at the bottom of the plate, and ears and horns on the top of the plate.
  1. Create two nostrils by making two brown circles in the area of mouth by using the brown paint and brush and complete the paper plate cow craft.

3. Clay Cow:

You Will Need:

  • White, blue, pink, black, yellow, and red clay

How To:

  1. Provide your kindergartner white clay and help her shape it into cow’s body, legs, and face.
  1. Add small spots of red clay at the end of the four legs of the animal and blue patches all over the body of the cow.
  1. Make horns out of the red clay, and form ears by using yellow clay.
  1. Use black clay to create eyes of the cow.

4. Color Pencil-Made Cow Drawing:

You Will Need:

  • A white drawing sheet
  • Color pencils of red, black, blue and brown colors

How To:

  1. Teach the kindergartner to draw an outline of a cow on the drawing sheet by using the blue color pencil. Outline the body, legs, tail, neck, face, and ears of the animal using the blue pencil.
  1. Draw small black patches on the body of the cow’s body and end of the legs by using the black pencil. Also, create nose and eyes using the black color.
  1. Color mouth and ears in red.
  1. Create horns and tip of the tail with the help of the brown color.

5. Clothes Pin Calf Craft:

You Will Need:

  • Two clothes pins
  • Glue
  • White card stock
  • White and black food colors
  • Paint brush
  • Black pipe cleaner
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How To:

  1. Cut two ovals from the white card stock such that one is big enough to form the body of a cow and other is small to suit as its face.
  1. Glue the small oval onto the large oval to create the body and face of the cow.
  1. Use a paintbrush and black food color and make small black spots on the body of the calf.
  1. Paint two equal-sized clothes pin white using the white color, and let them dry.
  1. Use the pins as the legs of the animal by anchoring them to the bottom of the calf’s body.
  1. Use a small piece of the black pipe cleaner and glue it to the top of the head like a horn.

6. Cow In The Grass Painting:

You Will Need:

  • White drawing sheet
  • Pencil
  • Brown, black, and green food color
  • Paint brush

How To:

  1. Teach your child to draw a picture of a cow on the white drawing sheet by using a pencil.
  1. Let your kindergartner paint the body, legs, face, and ears of the animal in light brown color by using a paint brush.
  1. Paint the horns of the cow in dark brown color and nose and its eyes in the black color to complete the cow painting.
  1. Use green color and paint grass around the animal.

7. Mug Painted Cow:

  • A light-colored mug, such as a mug light-blue in color
  • White, black, brown, and light pink food colors
  • Paint brush
  • A black permanent marker

How To:

  1. Use a black permanent marker and draw the face of the cow on a mug.
  1. Make some brown spots on the face of the cow by using brown food color and a paint brush. Also, color ears brown.
  1. Use light pink color and make the mouth of the cow.
  1. Create eyes and nose using the black paint.

8. Cow-Cream Cookie Craft:

  • One large cookie
  • Knife
  • Cream cones of white, blue, and brown colors

How To:

  1. Provide your child one giant cookie and help her cut the shape of a small cow out of it using a knife carefully.
  1. Place the cow cookie on the table, and use the white cream cone and spread the cream all over one side of the cookie as you see in the image.
  1. Create small brown patches on the body of the animal by using the brown cream cone.
  1. Make an eye with the help of blue cream cone.

9. Tissue Paper Handcraft Bull Craft:

You Will Need:

  • One small wooden ‘bull’ toy
  • Tissue papers of several colors, such as yellow, white, blue, green, red, and black.
  • Scissors
  • Glue

How To:

  1. Cut small vertical strips out of various colorful tissue papers with the help of scissors.
  1. Provide your child one small wooden bull and help her decorate it by pasting the layers of different colored soft paper as you see in the image. Embellish the animal such that it is full of multicolored tissues. Start sticking the papers from the bottom.
  1. Create the eyes of the bull by using two circular pieces of black and white papers.
  1. Cut a pair of horns out of the black paper and paste them on the top of the bull’s head.
