• Glitter glue
• White craft paper.
• Pattern or handmade paper in different colors (gold for diya and yellow for the flame).
• Golden dusting powder.
• Sequins

How To:

1. Draw and cut out the diya from the golden handmade paper.

2. Draw the flame on the yellow paper and cut it out.

3. Fold the card stock paper in half. Cut and stick out the handmade paper on the front side of the card.

4. Cut out a pattern from the purple or any other colored handmade paper and stick in the center of the card.

5. Cut the same pattern, but an inch smaller than the white card stock paper. Stick it on the purple paper.

6. Apply the golden dusting powder on the edges of the white cut out.

7. Now attach the lamp and flame in the center of the white cut out.

You Will Need:

• 1/8″ blue, green, yellow and red paper quilling strips.
• Glue gun
• Brown card stock paper.
• Thin, blue and green ribbons.

How To:

1. Use the teardrop shape for the flame and the half-moon shape for the diya. You’ll have to pinch it a little more to make it look like a diya. Make two lamp and flame shapes but in different colors.

2. Glue the diya to any place of your choice.

3. Now hot glue the two ribbons on the edges of the card. The card is ready.

She explains, “I started by embossing the background with collage clay and a stencil from Craftslane. Then I colored it with distressed inks – Peacock Feathers, Shabby Shutters, and Forest Moss. The colorful pattern paper is a scrap piece from a very old card. Then started the decoration with a peacock. The mdf peacock is from Itsy Bitsy. I colored it with gold acrylic paint and embellished it with loads of rhinestones. Added a few more elements like the skeleton leaves in gold, some punched leaves, and mdf leaves. At last, I added the sentiment which is a sticker from Pie Lane, and finished the look with a golden thread and sequins and rhinestones here and there (i).”

3. Simple Diwali card

You Will Need:

• 6*8-inch white card stock, folded in half.
• Red marker
• Red glitter tape
• Scissors
• Handmade paper scraps in different colors and designs.
• Glue
• Sequins in various colors.

How To:

1. Stick the glitter tape on the long side of the card. It should be an inch above the edge.

2. Draw and cut out diya shapes from the handmade paper. Glue the diyas on one side of the card.

3. Now put the sequins all over the card, except the tape and diyas cut out.

4. Write Happy Diwali in italics and the card is ready.

4. Diya cut out card

You Will Need:

• OHP sheet
• Card stock paper
• Glass outliner
• Glass paints
• Glitter
• Glue

How To:

1. Fold the card stock paper into half. Draw and cut out a lamp shape from the card stock paper. This way, both the sheets will be attached.

2. Draw and cut out the same shape on the OHP sheet. Make sure it’s slightly bigger than the cutout.

3. Reverse and draw the diya using the glass outliner. Allow the paint to dry for at least 10 to 15 minutes.

4. Fill the outline with colors of your choice. You can even use glitter to make the paint pop out. Leave it to dry for 30 minutes.

5. Use the extra bit of OHP sheet for sticking the sheet to the card. Your card is ready.

5. Shimmering card

You Will Need:

• Lace
• Paper of any two colors, (not black, white or gray)
• Sparkle pen
• Scissor
• Glue
• Sketch pens

How To:

1. Make an 8-inch long and 5-inch wide rectangle with both colored papers.

2. Fold the rectangle from the center.

3. Make a design on the top of the card and cut it out.

4. One the other colored paper, draw a lamp and then cut it out.

5. Decorate the lamp with colored sketch and glitter pens.

6. Stick the lamp design on the inner portion of the card.

7. Decorate the cover with the lace and write Happy Diwali on it.

6. Cinnamon candles

You Will Need:

• 3-inches thick pillar candle
• Cinnamon sticks
• Hot-glue gun
• Floral shears
• Ribbon

How To:

1. Measure the candle height and cut the cinnamon stick with the floral shears. The sticks should be slighter longer than the candle.

2. Attach the cinnamon sticks vertically to the candle. Stick the second stick only when the first one has dried.

3. Wrap a ribbon around it and you are done.

7. Diwali platter

• 7 to 8 small sized diyas
• White small stones
• Large and small blue rhinestones
• Silver lace
• Glitter glue
• Square wooden base
• Acrylic paint in silver and royal blue

How To:

1. Paint the diyas in the colors of your choice. Apply three coats of paints and leave it to dry.

2. Hot glue the white stones to the rim of the diya.

3. Apply a coat of paint to the wooden base.

4. Glue the lace to the four sides of the wooden base.

5. Make an outline using the silver glitter glue.

6. Now stick big and small stones alternatively on the sides of the frame.

7. Glue white stones upon the large blue stones.

8. At the four corners, glue round mirrors and small white stones.

8. Paper bag lightning

You Will Need:

• Utility knife
• Outdoor string lights
• Masking or paper tape
• 1½ inch wide satin ribbon
• Flat-bottom bags

How To:

1. Make 2 inches slit through the top sides of the bag.

2. Open the bag and cut an X in the bottom center. Thread through a 2-foot long ribbon through the slits. Tie a knot.

3. Slip the bulb through the X, making sure that the socket is fully inside. Seal the wire and the plug with the paper or masking tape. Repeat the method until all the bulbs are covered.

9. Moroccan lantern

• Rubbing alcohol
• Mason jars in different colors
• Wire
• Paintbrush
• Glass paint
• Gold dimensional puff paint

How To:

1. Clean the glass jars with rubbing alcohol.

2. Apply gold dimensional paint in different patterns. Leave it aside to dry.

3. Pour a small amount of paint in the jar and coat its insides. Leave it to dry.

• Seashells
• Water
• Bleach
• Double boiler
• Wax

How To:

1. Clean the seashells with a solution of water and bleach. Leave the shells to dry.

2. Melt the wax in the double boiler. Now pour the melted wax into the shells up to the brim.
