People around you are more overwhelmed by the idea of who’s inside your womb than you are. They love guessing whether you are going to have a boy or a girl, throughout your pregnancy. Some even resort to old wives tale for baby gender prediction, but are those tales reliable? We don’t know how well modern science backs them, but apparently, some of these come out as sure-fire predictions of one’s baby’s gender. We bring you the top 15 that we think are those sure-shots to know what’s inside.
1. The Lub-Dub Sings The Story
If your baby’s heart rate is faster with anything around 150, then it is a girl. Under 150 would likely be a boy!
2. High Bump Or Low Bump
If your bump is high, you are likely to carry a girl. If the bump is low, you might just be carrying a boy.
3. Chinese Calendar
The Chinese calendar uses the mother’s age and month of conception to calculate and arrive at the gender of the baby you might be carrying.
4. Mayan Gender Prediction
This one is a bit similar to the Chinese calendar, but the Mayan one uses the mother’s age and year of conception unlike the month of conception to arrive at the gender of the baby. If both are odd or even, it’s a girl. If one is odd and the other is even, it’s a boy.
5. Sweet Or Sour Craving
Craving for sweets might be an indicator of having a baby girl, but a craving for sour could be an indicator of a boy.
6. Complexion At The Time Pregnancy
They say that a baby girl is likely to steal your beauty. So if you lose the glow and charm that you would otherwise have during pregnancy, you are likely to have a girl. But if your skin is like a light bulb, and you look prettier than usual, you might be expecting a boy.
7. Morning Sickness
If you have had too many gags and felt nauseated more frequently in the first trimester, you are going to have a girl. If it wasn’t that bad and you haven’t been feeling sick for long, then it is a boy’s charm!
8. Soft vs Dry Hands
Just as softness and tenderness make you think of little girls, so is true about having soft hands during pregnancy, which invariably means that you are going to have a girl. If you have dry hands during pregnancy, it might be suggestive of a boy. Don’t go by how your hands might get dry during the dishes, though!
9. Sleep Position
If you sleep on your right, you could expect a girl. If you sleep on your left side, you are more likely to have a boy.
10. Clumsy Or Graceful
You might barely expect a graceful pregnant woman (she has her struggles anyway), but they say that a graceful preggo is more likely to have a girl than a clumsy mama who is likely to have a boy.
11. Moody Mama
Being moody during pregnancy could be an indicator of a baby girl. You will notice this, especially in the first trimester when you have terrible mood swings. Otherwise, you might be carrying a boy.
12. Toddler Predicts
If your toddler baby is curious about your belly, then you are going to have a girl.
13. Basketball Belly
If your bump looks protruding towards the front, it is a boy. If your bump seems to look pretty round, it’s a girl.
14. Linea Negra
They say that if your Linea Negra touches the belly button, you are going to have a girl. If it goes all the way up to the ribs, then it’s a boy.

If you dream of having a boy, it is more likely to come true!
