Mother Of Triplets Shows Reality Of Postpartum Body A Month After Giving Birth

Motherhood and pregnancy are definitely not easy. This is because a pregnant woman not only undergoes physical, emotional, and hormonal changes for 9 months but also sets out on a journey of caregiving and nurturing for a lifetime. Yet, there will always be a small minority of voices that wish to know what the whole fuss around pregnancy is all about. For such people, there are innumerable mothers out there who have brought the challenges of pregnancy to the forefront as a fitting reply. These mothers have come forth time and again to share their personal experiences just to remind the whole world about the realities of pregnancy and postpartum body. One such mother is Maria Nordo Jorstad from Denmark!

Residents of Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark, Maria and Anders (her husband) were already parents to a 2-year-old son when they found out that she was pregnant for the second time. However, what shocked Maria was when she was told it was going to be triplets for her this time around. She had naturally conceived all of them!

Like most mothers on social media nowadays, Maria too kept updating her profile with her pregnancy-milestone pictures and videos. Soon, her followers caught up and she started to gain attention for the growing size of her belly. The fact that Maria herself had a frail figure made the baby bump look even bigger. Soon, by the fag end of her pregnancy, her baby bump weighed an enormous 44 pounds!

On the 12th of September, Maria finally delivered her triplets – two daughters and a son – all of whom were healthy. Soon, Maria put up the pictures of the triplets online with the comments stating that everything had gone well with the delivery. The couple had named their babies Agnes, Iben, and Filip. The triplets were, however, kept in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care) for nine days before they were found fit to be sent home. And, now that the triplets were found to be healthy, both she and her husband were, quite understandably, relieved and happy.

As Maria settled down to taking care of the rest of her family along with the triplets, she hardly had any time left to look after herself. As she mentioned in her posts earlier, her belly had become quite big when she was carrying the triplets. This, she had hoped, would gradually shrink back and get into shape like the rest of her body as it happened the first time around. However, she was soon disappointed because she was still left with the large belly protruding out of her body. This made her look as if she was still pregnant even after a month of her delivery because her belly had stretched out a lot during her gestation. And Maria made no bones about it when she shared her disappointment on her social media post. In fact, she also went ahead and mentioned how she wasn’t even happy about posting the picture too.

However, Maria did not ignore the positive side to her situation as well. She wrote that her C-Section scar wasn’t hurting anymore and how she was feeling like herself again since the last two days before her post. As for her sagging belly, she went on to say that she had ordered a couple of belly bands online. These belly bands had already been shipped from the US and Maria mentioned how she was looking forward to trying them and checking out their results.

Despite the disappointment that she faced, Maria received immense support from her online followers and fellow moms alike. All of them kept cheering her ahead for which Maria was truly grateful. And, we think we would do too, considering the fact that Maria wasn’t happy about posting such personal pictures of herself online. Yet, she did it to help others understand the realities of motherhood. So, here’s saluting Maria and the many mothers out there for their indomitable spirit! Way to go, girls!
