Rainbows and unicorns are some of the kids favorites. But, the latter doesn’t exist. So, why don’t you further your little one’s interest in the colors of the rainbow? Well, the best way to do that is by helping her create some adorable rainbow crafts. 1. Clay Rainbow:

You Will Need:

  • Clay of seven rainbow colors i.e. red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet

How To:

  1. Provide all seven colors of the earth to your child, and help her shape the clay of each rainbow color into long semi-circular strips.
  1. Now, arrange all clay pieces in as per the rainbow’s color pattern such that red at the top, then orange, yellow, green, blue, and indigo and the violet arched clay strip at the bottom as you see in the figure. You can add some blue clay at the two ends of the clay rainbow as the sky base.

2. Rainbow-Colored Flower Craft:

You Will Need:

  • One big white flower with all its petals white or light-colored
  • Paint brush
  • Red, blue, orange, green, yellow, indigo, and violet food colors
  • Seven bowls and little water

How To:

  1. Put all seven rainbow colors in the bowls, each in the different container, and add a little water to them.
  1. Tell your child to paint each petal of the white flower with one of the colors of the rainbow in order. Color one of the petals red, the next one orange, and then yellow, and accordingly till violet color. If there is an extra one next to violet, then paint it with a different color such that no two adjacent petals should have the same color.

3. Chalk Pastels Rainbow Kids Craft:

You Will Need:

  • 14 colorful chalk pastels, such that two pastels of one of the seven rainbow colors.
  • A big cardboard
  • Tape or glue

How To:

  1. Provide your little rainbow lover 14 colorful chalk pieces.
  1. Guide the child to arrange all 14 chalks in the rainbow color pattern on a big cardboard starting with two red pastels at the left, two orange to the right of red, then yellow, and so on till two violet pastels are at the right end. Glue the arranged chalks on the cardboard using a tape or glue.
  1. You can also guide your kid to draw a colorful rainbow on the white drawing sheet by using each of the chalks in an appropriate pattern and hang her craft on your wall. This is one of the fun rainbow crafts for kids to make during leisure time.

4. Rainbow Flag Craft:

You Will Need:

  • A large sheet of white paper
  • Scissors
  • Measuring scale
  • Long craft papers of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet colors
  • Glue
  • A plastic or wooden stick for flag post

How To:

  1. Tell your kindergartner to cut the big white sheet of paper into a rectangular shape of the flag with the help of scissors.
  1. Measure the width of the white flag paper and divide it by seven and get a number ‘a’. Also, measure the length of the white sheet as ‘b’.
  1. Now, measure and cut each colorful craft paper of rainbow color into strips of ‘a’ width and ‘b’ length.
  1. Paste all seven pieces over the white flag-shaped paper in rainbow color sequence with red at the top and violet at the bottom using the glue.
  1. Wrap and glue a little portion of the left of the flag to the plastic stick as you see in the image.

5. Rainbow Necklace Craft:

You Will Need:

  • Five medium-sized beads of each rainbow color
  • A long string
  • Hooks

How To:

  1. Help your child to thread all medium beads into the chain in the rainbow color sequence such that thread in red bead first, then orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet at last. After Violet, thread on the red bead and continue the color pattern.
  1. Once all beads are in the string, tie hooks to the both ends of the chain and complete the necklace craft. This is the best rainbow craft for kids.

6. Rainbow Colored Ice Sculptures:

You Will Need:

  • Small water bowls or containers
  • Seven colors of rainbow
  • Water
  • Ice tray
  • Freezer or refrigerator
  • Sticks

How To:

  1. Fill all seven water bowls with plain water
  1. Add the red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet colors add different water bowls such that only one color is present in one container.
  1. Now, fill the ice tray with colorful water from the containers such that one space for ice cube should contain water of just color.
  1. Place the ice tray in the freezer and take it out after a couple of hours.
  1. Get the colorful ice cubes out in one big container and arrange them in the rainbow color sequence on the stick and form a lollipop or barbecue resembling structure. It can be one of the best rainbow crafts for preschoolers.

7. Rainbow Rubber Band Ball:

You Will Need:

  • A small ball
  • Lots of rubber bands of all seven colors of the rainbow

How To:

  1. Give your child a small ball and bunches of rubber bands of rainbow colors and tell her to wrap the ball with the colorful bands.
  1. Wrap lots of bands around the ball such that the ball is full of rainbow-colored bands and appears to be bigger than usual. When you observe the ball, it should be full of rainbow colors.

8. Rainbow Colored Spaghetti Letters:

You Will Need:

  • Cooked spaghetti
  • Seven bowls
  • Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet liquid food colors
  • Large sheet of white paper

How To:

  1. Put seven rainbow liquid food colors in seven different bowls such that one color in each bowl. Add a little water to each bowl.
  1. Put some cooked spaghetti in each bowl. Mix the spaghetti with the color in the bowl well such that spaghetti is full of that particular rainbow color.
  1. Now, tell your child to take the red spaghetti and create ‘R’ on the white paper.
  1. Similarly, create ‘A’ in orange, ‘I’ in yellow, ‘N’ in green, ‘B’ in blue, ‘O’ in indigo, and ‘W’ in violet colored spaghetti.

9. Handprint Rainbow:

You Will Need:

  • Big bowls
  • Seven rainbow food colors
  • Water
  • A big white drawing sheet

How To:

  1. Put seven rainbow food colors in seven different large containers such that one color in one bowl. Add a little water to them.
  1. Now, tell your kid to dip her palm in the red color and make the first strip of the rainbow with her handprints on the drawing sheet.
  1. Then, clean her hand and tell her to make the next orange, yellow, and other strips of the rainbow in the same manner till the violet strip as you see in the image.

10. Lego Rainbow Craft:

  • Lego bricks of red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet colors

How To:

  1. Arrange all rainbow-colored blocks in the colorful pattern of rainbow making a semi-circle as you see in the image.
  1. You can also place and fit the colorful Lego bricks one above the other with the violet at the bottom and red at the top and create the rainbow craft.
