1) Set Routines

Creating routines for your baby’s feeds, bath, and naps boosts her memory. If she plays in the same place, and with the same toys every day, remembering the scenario becomes easier for her. The ideal age to introduce your baby to daily routines is 0-3 months.

2) Play And Learn

Your baby can’t learn many life skills right now, but she is up for the learning bit. If a toy requires some skill and your baby needs time to acquire that, let her play more with it while you show her how to use it. It will help your baby remember the skill for long. The ideal age to introduce your baby to new skills is 0-3 months.

3) Use Her Name

Children begin to recognize the sound of their names by the fourth month. Saying your daughter’s name as often as you can helps her relate the sound with your attention to her. Also, relating the words mommy to you, and daddy to your spouse will help your baby build that connection quickly. You can begin calling her by her name when she is 4-6 months old.

4) Sing To Her

Babies can decipher word and sound patterns. Singing to your little bundle of joy will help her associate certain sounds with you, and will boost her memory.

5) Use Actions

Communicate with your baby through actions. Teach her to associate visible clues with words and sounds. When you read her a bedtime story, say things like jumping, dancing, swimming and point that out to her. This will encourage her to anticipate what comes next, and boosts her short term memory. Like calling your baby by her name, you should start talking to her once she is four months old.

6) Respond Promptly

Once your little bundle of joy turns six months, you should start reacting to her babbles. Leave clues for your baby. When you talk to her, pause and wait for her to respond. Your baby will eventually learn to add a response to what you’re saying. Also, babies recognize word and sentence patterns, and she will match your speed soon.

7) Recognition Games

Once your baby is nine months old, she begins to memorize routines. She will learn to associate bubbles with bath time. She also knows that her socks are for feet, and not her hands. Try putting her socks on her hands, and you’ll probably find your baby cooing with joy.
