Every new parent becomes an expert in baby skincare almost by accident — fragrance-free lotions, tear-free washes, the right shampoo for the right age. The first two years come with an entire industry built around getting this right.
Then your child turns three, and the shelf runs out of good answers. Baby shampoos are too mild for the tangles and scalp oil of an active five- or seven-year-old. Adult products bring stronger activities and fragrance a young child doesn’t need. So parents make do — stretching the baby range too long, or borrowing a “gentle” adult product and hoping for the best. This is the gap KT Kids was built to close.
A Range Built for the In-Between Years
KT Kids, from KT Professional — a haircare brand with over a decade in professional formulation — is designed specifically for children aged 3 to 12, split into two formulas: 3–7 years and 8–12 years. The split matters: a seven-year-old’s hair and a twelve-year-old’s are not the same problem, and one “kids” formula stretched across a decade was always a compromise.
The range is paediatric-approved and dermatologically tested, built around what parents actually deal with — tangling, scalp sensitivity, dryness from chlorine or sun — and free from the harsher chemicals common in adult haircare. Playful packaging and character collaborations (SpongeBob SquarePants, Peppa Pig) make the daily routine an easier sell to a distracted kid.
Proof, Not Just Promise

“Made for kids” often means little more than a cartoon on the bottle. KT Kids is pushing for a stricter standard — tested and paediatric-approved, not just friendly-looking. The brand summed it up at a recent fireside chat at the M-Pact Awards in Bangalore:
“Before it reaches your child’s skin, it passes our clinical standard. We’re proud to present the M-Pact Awards panel Trust Before Trend, because parents deserve proof, not just promises.”
Closing the Gap
The years between diapers and adolescence are exactly when kids start making more of their own choices — including whether they’ll sit still for a hair wash. It’s worth asking whether their skincare has kept pace, or just quietly become an afterthought once the baby aisle stopped applying.
The baby aisle was never meant to last forever. It’s good to see something finally built for what comes after it.
