Origin, Meaning, And History Of Arna
Arna is a medieval feminine name that originated from masculine names with the elements ‘arn’ or ‘ari/ǫrn,’ which have a common origin in the Proto-Germanic ‘arnu’ meaning ‘eagle.’ The name was widely used during the Middle Ages but faded out of use until it was revived in the 19th century. Arna is rare in German, Dutch, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, and Faroese.
In addition to being a medieval feminine name, Arna is a diminutive of Arnaud and Arnaude, French masculine and feminine forms of Arnold, meaning ‘eagle power.’ Arnold is derived from the elements arn, meaning ‘eagle,’ and walt, meaning ‘power’ or ‘authority.’
The Normans introduced Arnold to England, where it replaced the Old English cognate Earnweald. After the Middle Ages, Arnold died out as an English name but was later revived in the 19th century. Nowadays, Arna is a unisex name in Louisiana Creole, American (South), and English.
Arna has several variants, including Arnice, Arnolda, Arnina, Arneice, and Aarnina. It can be pronounced in two ways: as a two-syllable word with emphasis on the first syllable, i.e., ‘a-rna,’ or as a single-syllable word with emphasis on the only syllable, i.e., ‘ar-na.’ While the name Arna remains the same across all languages, its inflection varies.
Arna is a name shared by several prominent individuals, such as Arna Mer-Khamis, an Israeli Palestinian actress and political activist; Arna Bontemps, an American poet and novelist who depicted African American life; and Arna Ýr Jónsdóttir, who won Miss Iceland in 2015.
Furthermore, Arna is commonly used to name different places and things. Examples include a village in Greece, a borough in Bergen, Norway, a football club, a township in Minnesota, and two neighboring villages in Bergen. Additionally, Arna is a genus of moths, a journal, an airport in Sweden, a church and railway station in Bergen, and a proposed road tunnel in Norway. Finally, it is also the name of an Italian car called Alfa Romeo Arna.

Arna’s Zodiac Sign As Per Western Astrology
Western astrology includes the construction of a horoscope based on the person’s exact time of birth and location to understand the positions of the planet, stars, and zodiac signs at that time. However, in popular culture, it is often narrowed down to the sun sign, which depends on the person’s birth date. There are 12 zodiac signs, each having dominant traits, planetary rulers, elemental connection, and more.
Zodiac sign or Sun sign
The Earth’s orbit around the sun is divided into 12 zodiac signs covering 30-degree sectors. According to Western astrology, the zodiac or sun sign depends on the sun’s position in one of these sectors at the time of your birth. Starting from the sun’s position at the March equinox, the chart goes anti-clockwise from Aries, followed by Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces. These signs are ruled by planetary bodies - Mars, Venus, Mercury, Moon, Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. Furthermore, they are categorized into triplicities or elemental signs - fire, water, air, and earth - that govern their characteristics. Each of these zodiac signs features certain personality traits that may determine how a person presents themselves.
Why the date of birth matters
Each zodiac sign in Western astrology is linked to a specific range of dates in the year. Unlike Vedic astrology, where names can sometimes be used to infer astrological details, Western astrology relies entirely on the birth date.
