Dr. Naylin Appanna is an Advanced Specialist Laparoscopic Surgeon, who has been performing these surgeries since 1996. He holds clinics in Hamilton, Tauranga, Paeroa, Te Aroha and Morrinsville. A general gynaecologist, he has undergone specialist training in advanced laparoscopic surgery, including laparoscopic hysterectomies and laparoscopic pelvic floor reconstruction. At his clinics in Hamilton, he also performs colposcopies and manages patients with menopause issues, abnormal uterine bleeding and polycystic ovaries. Naylin Appanna graduated at the University of Natal (Black Section) in South Africa with a medical degree before escaping to New Zealand as a political refugee. He refined his skills at Brighton General Hospital in the UK, attending advanced laparoscopic courses at the Leeds Institute of Minimally Invasive Surgery, the Centre of Excellence for Laparoscopic Surgery in Hamburg, the Advanced Anatomy of Surgical complications course in Perth as well as the Queensland Institute of Minimally Invasive surgery. He is a member of the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopic and Surgery Society.
