Obese: Your BMI is over 30. You are expected to gain anywhere between 11 to 20 pounds or 0.4 to 0.6 pounds every week of pregnancy (5).

As you can observe the higher your BMI the less weight you are expected to gain throughout your pregnancy. However, it is important to supply your body with all the nutrients your baby will need in order to develop and grow well.
