During pregnancy, the urge to urinate is much higher. So if you’re running into the bathroom very frequently — even in the middle of the night, consider it as a possibility that you’re expecting. Then again, there are many reasons why you may want to pee way more than usual. So the smartest thing to do would be to fret less and visit a doctor to get some clarity on the subject.

Swollen And Tender Breasts

The pregnancy symptoms vary from one woman to another; they are often different even when the same woman conceives more than once. But having said that, if you have swollen and tender breasts, it could be an indicator that you’re pregnant. In the early stage of pregnancy, hormonal changes may make your breasts sore. So if you feel any discomfort, consider pregnancy to be a valid reason. And if not, then it could be a sign of PMS. Depending on whether you want to have a baby or not, know that it can go either way (1).

Fatigue

During the first stage of pregnancy, the odds of women feeling fatigued rank high! Since the level of your hormone progesterone increases, it may make you feel more exhausted and sleepy. If you feel more tired than usual, consult a doctor to see what could be the underlying cause (2).

Nausea & Vomiting

You must be aware that during the course of pregnancy, women experience morning sickness. Don’t let the term fool you. You can feel nauseated and have bouts of vomiting at any given time, be it day or night. This is an early sign of pregnancy which usually occurs a little after the first month of pregnancy. Again, this could be a different time frame based on the hormonal changes your body is going through (3).

Delay Or Missed Period

If you haven’t been diagnosed with PCOD/ PCOS (or any other ailment causing a delay in your period), and are used to having a regular menstrual cycle, then missing one is more than a clear indicator of pregnancy. But your period may get delayed if your routine has changed. So before you jump to conclusions, take a home pregnancy test to be sure. And if it comes negative, consult a doctor to know more.

Sadly, many of these signs and a few others (based on your bodily functions) aren’t limited to pregnancy to suggest that it is the sole reason behind the ailment. Some could be symptoms of PMS and, likewise, be due to pregnancy.

But it’s always advisable to be more informed and better prepared! So if you notice any signs mentioned above or otherwise, take a home pregnancy test at the earliest or visit a clinic to do the needful. The sooner you learn of your pregnancy, the better you can plan to look after yourself and your baby.
