You have probably heard horror stories about childbirth from that stranger in the supermarket or your relative. No woman wishes to hear such stories when they are already having a hard time dealing with pregnancy. Susie was a 35-year-old expectant mum who was worried about having a C-section and desperately wanted a natural birth for herself. She did everything she could to make sure things go according to the plan by joining Lamaze classes and enrolling herself in prenatal yoga all the while following a healthy diet. But one thing she never anticipated was how long natural childbirth could last. Susie went into labor for nearly 15 hours and despite her best efforts ended up having a third-degree tear. Susie says that though things didn’t pan out as she had planned, she was glad to have delivered a healthy and happy baby. And looking back, it wouldn’t have mattered whether she had a natural delivery or C-section as long as both she and her baby were healthy and safe.
