“My nurse had told me to call her when I felt a lot of pain. I was dilated 10 cms but I was just chilling. I was reading a magazine, texting my sister and talking to my husband. I felt a little bit of pressure so I put my hand down there just to see what was up. And I felt my baby’s head! OMG. I called the nurse immediately and before we knew it my baby’s head popped right out and his body followed. I caught him myself! We weren’t even prepared. There were no scissors, no cord clamps, no bulbs, nothing. Guess my baby couldn’t wait any longer. I told my OB-GYN that he owes me a refund.” – Kathy

“I  probably pooped more during the time of my delivery than I did during an entire month. I just knew it was going to happen and kept telling my nurses but they assumed it was because of the epidural that they gave me. But guess what, I was pooping the whole time I was pushing my baby out. My husband says it’s engraved in this brain. Oh well, he still loves me. He’ll get over it.” – Samantha

“As soon as my baby was born, the nurse had to draw some of his blood. My mom and sister were with me in the room after my c-section. My mom turned away because she did not want to look. But my sister tried to stay strong. Just for a second. Just before she fainted and fell, hitting her head on the radiator. Half of the nurses drawing blood from my side rushed to my sister. She stole my baby’s thunder on his first day of birth.” –  Anne

“I tried to go to the bathroom and without any control, my body started pushing on its own. I panicked because just as I was getting into the car, and the baby’s head was already starting to come out. I had prepared to do deep breathing exercises and some yoga positions when I went into labor but all I did was think ‘don’t have the baby in the car, don’t have the baby in the car’. As soon as we reached the clinic, my husband grabbed a wheelchair and rushed me to the room. I reached the birthing room and had the baby when I was still standing and my pants were still around my ankles. No gown, no bed!” – Lisa

“My water broke and I was rushed to the hospital by my husband. We were both super excited to be parents for the first time. But my baby was not ready to come out. I had to wait 72 hours before being dilated to 10cms. The nurses told me that it was one of the longest labors they had ever seen. God bless me.” – Natalia
