Quarantine has been especially hard on kids. Despite schools and colleges being closed, they are restricted to go out and play with their mates. The adults around them, though seemingly normal, behave stressed and anxious. In many instances, kids may understand the physical and immediate consequences of the pandemic without comprehending the gravity of the situation. The crucial stability that is necessary for a kid’s life has been one of the many victims of this pandemic.

As parents who are spending time with their kids in quarantine, you may have developed a strong bond during this lockdown phase. What better way to maintain some sort of stability in your child’s quarantined life and to nurture that bond, if not celebrating your munchkin’s birthday despite the quarantine? Granted, the restaurants and stores are closed. Also, throwing a party can be quite careless when we should be strictly following physical distancing. However, that’s not the idea at all. The idea is to celebrate your little munchkin’s precious existence in any small way you can. It will be an uplifting communication as in the case of Neha Dhupia. The actress shared a bunch of cute pictures of her little angel on her Instagram handle to mark the occasion of Mehr’s birthday. Celebrating your kid’s birthday during these times will give them a happy reminder that this is just a phase, and things will soon balance out naturally. 1. Bake Together

Since bakeries might be closed, why don’t you set out on a baking adventure with your little munchkin? Not only can he/she choose the flavor, but he/she can also have the added pleasure of applying as much frosting as the heart desires. Additionally, the shape of the cake can also be customized to the best of your ability. Take, for instance, Lisa Haydon, who baked a “3” shaped cake for her eldest son, Zack. The actress shared stories from the backyard birthday party on her official Instagram handle.
2. Camp Out

Yes, parks are closed. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t set your tent up in your courtyard, backyard, terrace, or living room. Create an ambiance of camping out with star lights and make marshmallow roasts over an open fire or just the oven. Spend the night by telling each other scary or funny stories and sleeping as a family by snuggling up together.
3. Be Creative With Decorations

Party shops may be closed, but stationery shops are not. Buy colorful paper to make personalized streamers. Take online classes if you want to be really creative with the design. Customize the design as per your kid’s favorite cartoon character or superhero. Lisa Haydon went a step further and got Zack’s favorite superhero to attend his birthday. Zack was delighted to meet and be wished by Spiderman on his birthday.
4. Scavenger Hunt

Set up a homemade adventure for your precious little one. Make the birthday present the ultimate objective of this scavenger hunt. Communicate with easy-but-not-too-easy clues and keep complimentary presents along the way. These presents could be something simple like candy or home-baked cupcakes.
5. Obstacle Course

Be inventive when you set out an obstacle course. Ensure that they are not in any harm’s way as they jump over the pillow or streamers in their hallway. Download some cheers and applause on your phone/computer to give it the ambiance of a real obstacle course.
6. Write A Song

There must have been times when you’ve heard your kid humming songs to themselves. Take their words or tune and create a personal song for you and your kid. Add anecdotes or inside jokes to personalize the song. Jam as a family and indulge in a grand performance on the important day to make your kid feel special.
