A Fight Over A Baby Name Kept A New Dad From Seeing His Newborn

Couples fight. It is no secret that every relationship has conflicts, misunderstandings, and disagreements. But most couples sort things out and move on with their lives together. It could take a day, a week, or a month but eventually, they move past it because life is more significant than a fight you have with your partner. Under normal circumstances, these fights do not seem like a lot because couples get through them. But during childbirth, the silliest of conflicts can become a huge deal. After all, you’re dealing with a lot of stress as is, and even the smallest of things can tick you off. However, some couples go through delivery without much trouble, but some cannot avoid the delivery room drama.

Recently, a couple had a massive blowout, which led to a point where the mom-to-be refrained from telling her boyfriend that she had a baby. In a post on Reddit, the dad put a post out of frustration that he was not informed about his baby’s birth until the next day after its birth. Not only was he frustrated but also quite angry that his girlfriend kept this huge news from him. He explained in the post that they had a disagreement about what to name the baby, and as a result, she deliberately kept the news from him.

The couple had been going back and forth about what they wanted to name their child. The mother-to-be wished her son to be named after her father, but her boyfriend was not too keen. He said that it was an awful name, and he did not want his son to have that name. On hearing this, his girlfriend was quite insulted, and she refused to speak to him after the incident.

A week later, while he was hanging out with his younger brother, his mum called him in tears, telling him about his child’s birth. The Redditor’s mother said that her friend phoned her to congratulate her on her grandson’s birth, who was born the previous day. When he got this call from his mother, he was furious because his girlfriend kept the news from him. He explained that he did not know what was more terrifying, the fact that his son was born a month earlier than his due date, or that he was not told about it.

He expressed his frustration and anger in his post, saying that everyone was at the hospital except the baby’s father. He said that, currently, his father had gone to the hospital to find out the details as he was too angry to deal with it. What annoyed him more was that some people were taking his girlfriend’s side through this whole thing. His post had comments saying that she cannot be blamed for not thinking about his needs when she went into labor (which makes sense, right?).

One Reddit user wrote that giving birth is a traumatic experience, and he did not need to add to it by staying mad at his pregnant girlfriend. Another user said that she probably made the right choice seeing that he did not check up on his pregnant girlfriend for a whole week. This made him mad.

But he updated his post where he wrote that he finally met his baby

But he updated his post where he wrote that he finally met his baby. He was named after his girlfriend’s father, but his middle name was his father’s name. (Awww). He wrote that he was happy that his son was healthy and probably loved his girlfriend more than before. He added that he feels over the moon right now and cannot wait to see his son again. After all, all is fair in love and childbirth! Do you agree with what the mother-to-be did? Comment below and let us know your thoughts.
