Dad Texts Daughter For Advice On His Outfit For A Date And Their Adorable Exchange Goes Viral

Although it bombards you with creeps and fake news more often than not, the internet also brings you funny cat videos and adorable baby memes and once in a while, heartwarming acts of kindness from strangers. When our adorable, worrying parents decide to text their adult children, inadvertently saying cute and funny things, the internet usually breaks. In this case, a single dad asking his teenage daughter for fashion advice melted the internet for a good couple of days.

Scoring a date when you are single is no mean feat. Whether you are a teen who just started dating or middle-aged, first dates are never easy. Trying to impress someone when you are visibly nervous makes the situation hard to crack and awkward. Getting ready for a first date while your stomach is somersaulting like in the Olympics can be hard for anyone. To make things easier, you start by trying to pick an outfit that would hopefully make you comfortable as well as look attractive. Easier said than done. It is, in reality, a grueling ritual that involves hours and hours of trying on everything in your closet, second-guessing yourself and possibly concluding that you can’t do this alone. That’s when you need a second pair of eyes and someone who will tell you that you are good enough. For this single dad from Texas, his 19-year-old daughter was that person.

Carli took to Twitter to share the cute messages her dad had sent her. Her tweet read, “Life with a single dad, asking for advice on date outfits.” Little did Carli know that her tweet would go viral like the way it did. It was retweeted more than 6 thousand times and got 168K likes. After the tweet exploded, she also shared the photos her dad had sent her, asking for her feedback on his date attire. Twitter was quick to show their love and respect for all the efforts he was putting in. One tweet read, “Your dad is killing it either way! I hope he finds the right person!” Another user tweeted, “You know he’s a good man when he can share this with you…”

At last, Jeff stepped out, looking smart and confident. Unfortunately, his daughter posted a follow-up tweet saying that her father was stood up. His date didn’t turn up, and Twitterati was not happy about that. A user tweeted, “…The woman who stood him up will see this & what she lost out on. He deserves better!”

Following her update, Twitter blew up as people started responding to Carli with proposals of setting up their single mothers with her gentleman dad and date requests from single ladies in town.
