While every couple might want to become parents eventually, they may not be prepared for it at a particular time, especially if it isn’t planned. Which is why it is imperative to use protection until such time when they are ready. Yet, despite this, accidents happen! Especially with men. And then, you may be left wondering what went wrong. Condoms generally come with a long expiration date but don’t take this for granted. Every time you buy a new pack of condoms, make sure you read the expiration date carefully on the box as well as the packet inside. Be very careful while opening the packet. Make sure you NEVER use a scissor or your teeth for you’ll end up damaging it or cause tiny, unseen holes that might prove disastrous otherwise.

Once you take the condom out of the packet, hold the tip to remove excess air. Then, observe which side it seems to be rolling out so that you do not put it inside out. In case you happen to put it inside out, then do not turn it around and re-use it. Just use a different one instead of the same. This is because there may be traces of semen on it which might get in contact with your partner’s private area, thereby defeating the whole purpose of using it.

Step 3

Now, make sure your genitals are erect before you put the condom on. Hold the tip of the condom and then put it on the head of your organ. Once you get a grasp (since it might be slippery), quickly role it down to the base.

Step 4

Although condoms are generally self-lubricated, you can apply some water-based lubricant on to the condom after wearing it. This is to prevent it from tearing due to friction. However, do not apply an oil-based lubricant or Vaseline because they might actually end up tearing the condom. Proceed with the lovemaking!

Step 5

After you’re done with the release job, try to get a hold of the rim of the condom at the base of your organ. Then gradually pull out of your partner. However, you must do this while you are still a bit hard. Because if you become too soft, it might be difficult for you to pull out the condom without causing any spillage.

Step 6

Soon after pulling out of your partner, do not try to remove the condom while you are still in the vicinity of your partner’s private area. Head to the washroom if you can. Then, remove the condom and knot the end, wrap it in a tissue, and put it in a trash bin. Never try to flush it down as it can cause blockage of the pipes.

We hope this has given you a fair idea of how to effectively use a condom. You may or may not be an advocate of using it during lovemaking. But there is no denying the fact that it saves you not only from unexpected pregnancies but also protects you and your spouse from a lot of sexually transmitted diseases and infections. So, make sure you use this carefully until the time you are ready to expand your family. Good luck!
