Indian actress, popularly known for her roles in Indian television, Anita Hassanandani and her husband Rohit Reddy were blessed with their first child on February 9th, 2021.
Rohit Reddy announced it on Instagram. He shared one of the pictures from the happy couple’s pregnancy photoshoot and incorporated the date of birth in the frame. The image also had a small blue baby onesie stating that it’s a boy. New father Rohit Reddy captioned the picture, saying, “Oh Boy!” announcing that it’s a boy. Wishes came pouring from celebrities, fans, friends, and colleagues congratulating the new parents.

In the early days of their pregnancy, Anita Hassanandani and Rohit Reddy had tried to keep the news of pregnancy under wraps. However, on October 10th, 2020, they officially announced the news on Instagram through a cute video. They showed how their journey has evolved through friendship, dating, marriage and finally revealed Anita’s baby bump. She captioned the video as two plus two equals three with heart emojis. The actress ended it with the hashtag “getting ready for Reddy”. Check out the video.

The very next day, soon-to-be-dad Rohit Reddy posted a picture of the couple where Anita Hassanandani’s baby bump is more than evident. He wrote in his caption, “No visual effects here! That bump is real!”. Ever since the news broke out, the expecting parents have been sharing glimpses of their pregnancy journey, making fans just as eager as them for baby Reddy’s arrival.
Anita Hassanandani did not worry about society’s judgments and unsolicited comments of her age to get pregnant. In an interview with a popular news agency, she opened up about the age factor and how society pressurizes women to have a baby because of their “ticking biological clock”. The 39-year-old actress said that the age factor did play on her mind and she felt overwhelmed because several people told her it would be tough to get pregnant. But when she conceived naturally, she realized that age is just a number. Anita stated that one has to be mentally and physically fit to have a baby and not do it just because society expects them. She said that she and Rohit waited until they were ready, well-settled, and in a good place mentally and financially to have a baby.

Talking about parenting, Anita shared a post on Instagram appreciating Rohit for his efforts towards preparing for fatherhood. She said that despite his professional commitments, he went through a tower of books, watched parenting videos, and even advised her when she needed it. The actress stated that Rohit is supportive and shares the jitters, joy, and most importantly, the responsibility of pregnancy. Anita said that they strongly believe in equal parenting, and she never stood alone through it.
