Here's How An App Can Help You Have A Baby Girl

Developers have come with a new app that apparently helps women conceive a girl. The new app, called StorkDiet/Girl, can run on both iOS and Android phones.

Alain Hanash, the developer of StorkDiet/Girl, says that he has based his app on the latest study from the Universities of Oxford and Exeter that have found a link between maternal diet and gender selection.

The study, which involved 740 first time mothers, has found that women who were on low calcium and sodium and fewer calories, in general, had more chances to conceive a girl. The study that was published in the Proceedings of the Royal Society B: Biological Sciences, led inferred that 56% of women who complied with the girl diet were successful in conceiving a girl.

It might also be interesting to note that researchers have pointed out that a steady reduction in the male birth population in the last 40 years could be alluded to the dietary changes across the population with women frequently skipping breakfast before going to work.

The app outlines a nine-week diet rich in nutrients used in the research and draws the diet plan from an inbuilt database, which includes over 8,400 food items. It explains the science behind the maternal diet.

When it comes to the range of the food items, the app can tell you what foods are allowed what are not allowed to conceive a baby girl.

The app also includes a menstrual and ovulation cycle tracker.

StorkDiet/Girl is claimed to have achieved a success rate of 81% through the nine-week diet and the conception timing program.

But what do the experts have to opine about this app? Dr. Gilbert Webb, a maternal-fetal medicine specialist at the Mercy Hospital in St. Louis has his doubts around the success of the app. He says that the app might have an edge regarding choosing or predicting the gender of the child, but it might not make a whole lot of a difference.

So for those who always wanted daughters, the app must be something they could give a shot. Going by the testimonials by several people who have indeed managed to conceive a girl, it could be worth a try, especially when there is some natural way of conception.

This is not the first time when an app of this sort has hit the market. Earlier an app called Glow was created for one to be able to conceive. After its first four months, Glow is said to have helped at least 1,000 women get pregnant.

There is another app Kindara that predates Glow. The app that was released in 2012 had one difference, though. It could not only help women conceive, but also help them prevent pregnancies, that is without the use any contraceptive. The app could tell women if they are ovulating.

With StorkDiet/Girl, the innovation has got more specific and streamlined into gender selection. So, for all those out there who want girls because it’s sugars and spice and everything nice that make up girls, you might just want to think what StorkDiet suggests!
