Since this has been the norm for ages, women who choose to have a career after having a child are often judged and criticized. While we should not be condoning such behavior, it is a tough battle to win because it involves breaking stereotypes that have existed since ancient times. Women who choose to stay at home with their babies are perceived as good mothers, while women who choose to go to work are seen as bad mothers. As a mom of two, Bollywood actor Kajol bursts this myth and speaks about her experience with motherhood.

Kajol has been a mother for around two decades and has proved that she is a superwoman. She is one of the most respected and talented actors in the industry, and in the recent past, she made a name for herself through web series. In 2003, she became a mother to Nysa Devgn and took a sabbatical to focus on her baby girl. Seven years later, Ajay Devgn and Kajol had their second child Yug Devgn. Kajol chose to stay home for another five years to take care of her baby.

The mother of two made a comeback in the year 2015 with the movie Dilwale. Having been a mother of two for almost 20 years, Kajol opened up about being a working mother and how it is perceived by society. In an interview with a popular magazine, the beautiful actress says that she admires stay-at-home mothers and wonders how they make it look so effortless. Kajol says society is quick to call a woman a bad mother if she misses one PTA meeting, does not pick up their child or cook for them. She says that there are too many things that make a woman a bad mother but not enough that make her a good one.

The doting mother also opened up about parenting. She says it’s a myth that working mothers do not dedicate enough time for their kids. Kajol says that every woman has thought that at least once in her life because whether you’re working or not, spending time with your kids never feels like it’s enough. Kajol also talks about the parenting lesson she learned from her mother, Tanuja. She said that her mother taught her many things, but the biggest lesson her mother taught her with respect to parenting was that one should make their children think for themselves. Kajol said that it was the biggest lesson her mother passed on to her, which led to everything she has become and learned.

The Fanaa actress said that her mother Tanuja taught her that a child should think for themselves and make decisions on their own. They have to understand the consequences of their choices because only then will they learn if a decision they make is right for them or not. Kajol has an incredible bond with her mother, Tanuja, and her sister Tanishaa. She revealed that her mother is her source of inspiration and has guided her through all walks of life.

In an interview, Kajol opened up about the relationship she had with her mother when she was growing up. She said that she was petrified of her and would not put one toe out of line if her mother disapproved. Further, she stated that Tanuja was one of the most forward-thinking people who gave her the most amazing upbringing. Kajol said that they discussed everything, and nothing was hidden. Even though her parents went through a divorce, Kajol revealed that it did not negatively impact her life because of her mother, Tanuja.
