Kareena Kapoor Khan's Nutrition Expert Reveals Her Second-Pregnancy Diet In The Initial Months

The moment a woman announces that she is pregnant, she is bombarded with pregnancy dos and don’ts from what to eat, what not to eat, how much to work out, and how much is too much! Women love advising pregnant women by drawing from their own experiences. And while it might be endearing to watch people pass their wisdom to another pregnant woman, there comes a point when it almost becomes annoying. However, the one thing people love to read about is celebrity diets during pregnancy. Because unlike us who have to depend on pados wali maasis and aunts, celebs have nutritionists and dietitians at their beck and call to help them look fabulous and stay healthy throughout their pregnancy.

While there were many celebs who managed to look fabulous and stylish throughout, if we had to name one who broke several stereotypes and stunned everyone, it has to be Kareena Kapoor Khan. From working towards the end of her pregnancy and refusing to conform herself to a certain body type to hitting the gym after giving birth to bring her A-game, Kareena has been an inspiration to many.

On August 12th, Kareena and Saif had announced that they are expecting their second baby and thanked everyone for their wishes and support. Since then people have been excitedly waiting for new deets about the mom-to-be and what the actress is doing to stay healthy and glowing in the first trimester.

Rujuta Diwekar has been Kareena Kapoor’s nutritionist for a long time and has helped the actress follow a healthy and wholesome diet when she was pregnant with Taimur in 2016. Recently, the well-renowned nutrition and wellness expert shared an Instagram post revealing the diet and workout plans the actress followed around May and June to look gorgeous for her latest Filmfare cover.

The diet plan consists of 5 meals and a bedtime drink and snack to satiate her late-night cravings. The first meal is taken around 9 or 10 in the morning, which is soaked badams or banana. It is then followed by a workout. The second meal includes curd rice and papad or flatbread, lentils, and paneer sabzi, which is eaten around noon. The third meal is taken around 2 or 3 in the afternoon. Meal three includes a handful of peanuts, a bowl of papaya, some fox nuts (makhana), or a piece of cheese. Meal four is taken around 5 to 6 p.m. and consists of a bowl of litchi, mango milkshake, or chivda. Chivda is a popular snack that is made using flattened rice, dry fruits, peanuts, and spices. Chivda is a great diet food if they are cooked right by baking, boiling, or sauteed instead of fried. The fifth and last meal of the day is taken around 8 in the night. It includes dal rice and sabzi, pudina/palak roti with boondi raita, or vegetable pulao and raita. The bedtime drink consists of haldi milk with some nutmeg. For bedtime cravings, the actress had curd with cashews or raisins, fresh fruit, tender coconut water, nimbu sherbet, or chaas with black salt and hing. Previously, the nutritionist has talked about the importance of including locally produced fruits and vegetables in our diet instead of buying exotic ones. Rujuta revealed that one can rely on local ingredients and homemade food to follow a healthy diet and it doesn’t always have to be quinoa and chia seeds.

Of course, each pregnancy is different, and what your body needs may differ depending on several factors. Also, it’s important to keep in mind that it may not be ideal to follow a diet plan simply because a celebrity endorsed it. If you are pregnant, make sure you talk to your doctor or dietitian to help create a diet plan suitable for your body and lifestyle.
