The year 2020 was a challenging year for the whole world. We were struck with a global pandemic that disrupted everyday life and changed the entire world’s perspective on life. People lost jobs, money, and the lives of loved ones. We spent most of the year staying indoors and in lockdown. It was an unexpected turn of events, and my kids hated it for the most part. The effects of the coronavirus might have been disastrous, but it reminded me to slow down and appreciate what I have. It taught me life lessons, and I want to share them with my kids. One of the most important things I learned in 2020 was to be grateful for everything I have. It is easy to forget the countless blessings we have in our lives, but I want my kids to know that there are several reasons to have gratitude every day.

2. Letting Go

We get so caught up in our struggles in life that we forget to appreciate the good things. 2020 taught me that some things are not in my control, and it’s best to let them go. We tend to worry and stress about things that we cannot do anything about, and I want my kids to know that.

3. Don’t Take Anything For Granted

We are so caught up in our day-to-day lives that we forget what’s important. We often take our loved ones for granted because we don’t realize the value of our relationships. 2020 reminded me to never take anything for granted because it can be taken away in the blink of an eye.

4. Learn The Art Of Patience

Patience is an important virtue. 2020 taught me to be patient with myself and the people around me. It’s easy to lose your cool when things don’t go as per your plan, but like they say, good things take time, and patience is the only way.

5. Family Comes First

People often take family for granted. In 2020, people realized the true value of family. They are the ones who are there for you, in good times and in bad. They’ll always have your back, and in 2020, we had the chance to spend quality time with them.

6. The Importance Of Mental Health

There is a hush-hush attitude around the topic of mental health. It has been taboo for a long time, but people realized the importance of taking care of one’s mental health. Being forced to stay indoors played a significant role, and I want my kids to remember that a healthy body is incomplete without a healthy mind.

Life is unpredictable, and you never know what is in store for you. 2020 taught me that saving money for a rainy day is essential to living a peaceful and secure life. I want my kids to learn that saving money is a healthy habit that will allow them to become financially responsible.

8. Self-care Is A Priority

2020 taught me that self-care is a priority, not a privilege. Take the time out to care for yourself, and don’t be afraid to put yourself first. You cannot pour from an empty cup, so you need to make sure your cup is full.

9. Prayer Is Powerful
