“I have always been a fan of mangoes. I mean, who isn’t? During my first pregnancy, I expected to be gorging on delicious sweet mangoes. My husband stocked up on sweet mangoes because he wanted to be prepared for the midnight cravings. But what happened was quite the opposite. I craved tangy flavored food. Tamarind, kiwi, lemons, gooseberries, and worst of all, vinegar. There was a time when I mixed tangy salad dressing with vinegar and relished it like it was the best dish ever created!” – Jessica

“I’ve never been a person who enjoyed too many sweets. To my surprise, with every pregnancy, I had a strong sweet tooth. During my first pregnancy, older family members told me that I’m most likely having a boy because I’m craving sweets. But they were wrong! I had a girl. For my second pregnancy, I continued to have sweet cravings. I would eat tubs of ice cream because anything else would make me nauseated. And this time, I had a boy. Well, at least I have “sweet” children.” – Hannah

“I had a strong craving for pineapples. I told my husband about it, and since it was not pineapple season, he got me store-bought canned pineapple. They were soaked in pineapple-flavored syrup and would have had the taste I was craving. But sadly, I couldn’t eat it. I was craving fresh pineapple, and nothing else appealed to me. I still feel bad about how much my husband went around town looking for some fresh pineapple just to satisfy my cravings.” – Zoey

“When I was pregnant with my son, I craved cheesy french fries dipped in root beer. It was weird, but it’s the only thing that satisfied me. I would enjoy the combination of the two and couldn’t get enough. It’s been three years since my son was born, and he gets super excited every time he gets a chance to have some french fries. Are these things related? I’d never know.” – Susan

“Have you ever felt that mustard flavored food is appealing? Well, neither have I. But when I was pregnant with Tony, all I wanted to eat was pretzels. Not just any kind of pretzels but mustard-flavored ones. I normally never liked them, but that’s all I craved when I was expecting. Weird how the human body works…” – Penny

It’s safe to say that pregnancy makes you crave the oddest foods, which you probably don’t understand. You might even detest the combination after your delivery, but it is what it is when you’re with a baby in your belly.
