Mother Gives Birth To Triplets – When She Didn't Even Know She Was Pregnant

Every woman who wishes to have a baby can’t wait for the day when she’ll finally get to deliver and hold her baby in her arms. In the anticipation of this moment, she’ll excitedly track every growth milestone of the baby nurturing in her womb. She’ll also be vary of all pregnancy-related symptoms throughout the gestational phase. But what if you were not planning a baby at all? Will you be attentive to what’s occurring in your body? Maybe you’ll not, especially if you’ve already had babies years back and don’t wish to have more. So, it’ll definitely come as a shock if, out of the blue, you land in the hospital with a few pains only to be told that you are ready to deliver! What’s more? Not only do you end up delivering a baby but three at that! Unbelievable, isn’t it? But this is exactly what happened with a woman in South Dakota.

Danette and Austin Giltz, who live in Sturgis in South Dakota, had been married for 12 years. They had already become parents to two children and considered their family to be complete. But little did they know what was in store for them. One fine day, Danette complained of extreme pain that she believed was due to kidney stones. Danette had experienced kidney stones earlier as well and it was quite understandable for her to believe it was kidney stones this time around too. But the couple was in for a shock when they were informed that Danette was pregnant and gone into labor. Not only that, but they were also told that she’ll be delivering twins!

The shocked parents gathered their wits and went about the process of childbirth and gathering stuff like baby blankets. When Danette delivered the second of the twins, that’s when Austin was asked for another blanket which left him flummoxed! And why not, considering the couple was told they will be having only twins? But, as it turned out, a third baby was coming too! They were not twins but triplets! It was a day both Danette and Austin will never forget. As Danette later confessed to a local daily, she went in assuming she’ll have to undergo surgery for kidney, but instead ended up with a C-section and triplets in her arms. The triplets had completed 34 weeks and were delivered safely via the C-section surgery.

Despite the news being unexpected, the family is thrilled. More so the older siblings. In fact, the oldest Ronnie, who is ten years old, surprised everyone by confessing that it was due to his wish that the triplets were born! Apparently, Ronnie saw a shooting star one day and wished for a little brother for himself and 2 little sisters for his younger sister then. So, when the triplets – one boy and two girls – finally arrived, Ronnie believes he knew they were coming. The two little girls have been named Gypsy and Nikki respectively, and the boy has been named Blaze. The Giltzes, who have suddenly grown from a family of four to seven, are getting used to being a large family gradually.

What’s even more heartening is how their entire town at South Dakota has been rallying around the couple to help them with this pleasant yet unexpected arrival. They’ve been arranging for baby supplies and clothes to help the parents. Family and friends have come forward with many contributions and have also set up a Facebook fundraising page for the couple’s triplets.

Danette is already out of hospital now. While she and Austin are still letting the feeling sink in, they confess they are overwhelmed by the love and support of their community and extremely grateful to each and every one of them. We wish the proud parents and their kids the very best in their lives!
