You don’t have to be a fan of cricket to know the name Dhoni. While he is well known for his captaincy in the Indian cricket team, he has been an inspiration to many. He captained the Indian cricket team when they won the ICC World Cup back in 2011. He is known for his calm and composed attitude on the field and his extraordinary leadership skills. But that’s not all. On more than one occasion, Mahendra Singh Dhoni showed us that he is a doting father to his adorable little daughter, Ziva. Despite long working hours and being away from home for extended periods, Dhoni manages to spend time with his daughter when he is with her. He teaches her all the right things and inculcates good values in his daughter. In a video shared on his Instagram account, he teaches Ziva greetings in 6 different languages, from different parts of India. Talk about parenting done right! He had also shared another video where he is drying Ziva’s hair, and it won a million hearts.

On August 16th, 2020, the legendary former captain of the Indian Cricket team announced his retirement from International Cricket, bringing down the curtains to a 16-year long career. He was one of the most successful captains the team has ever seen with three ICC trophies. There were speculations about his retirement, but Dhoni confirmed the news by posting a video on Instagram. He expressed his gratitude in his caption by saying, “Thanks a lot for ur love and support throughout.from 1929 hrs consider me as Retired”.

Dhoni is known for his stoic silence and cryptic answers, and this time too, he didn’t say much with his announcement to retire. But Mahendra Singh Dhoni left all of us bidding him goodbye with a heavy heart. We wish him and his family the best of luck for their future endeavors.
