6 Pregnancy Truths The Internet Won’t Warn You About

As you must know, the information out there about pregnancy is infinite. You will hear about experiences, tidbits, and advice from almost everyone around you. From family to friends to books to even movies! Several movies have that infamous childbirth scene where the woman is howling in pain and spewing obscenities while her husband stands by her side. But the next thing you know, she gives birth, and everything is back to normal. Hate to break it to you, but this is all remarkably untrue (apart from the pain and obscenities maybe).

In reality, as most moms would agree, it is a traumatic experience that takes everything out of you. But that’s not just during childbirth; pregnancy, in general, can take a toll on you. Your body changes, your mood changes, and your food changes – you know the drill. However, that’s all the common stuff when one talks about pregnancy. We are here to tell you the real deal; the ugly side of pregnancy and childbirth that not even the Internet wants you to know. Just a slight warning, you may be thoroughly grossed out or not so pleasantly surprised.

1. Poop and Boogers

Some of you may know this, but for the rest of you, did you know that you may poop while delivering because of all the pressure? But don’t worry; it’s normal so everyone in the room will ignore it. And while you’re pregnant, your body will be oozing mucus, which turns into boogers, which makes you want to pick at them. All day, every day.

2. Old Lady Aches and Pains

As you know, your hips widen, your feet swell, and your pelvic bones soften, which means you are in for quite a bit of pain even before you pop your baby out. One woman had carpal tunnel syndrome, and had to use wrist splints!

3. Weird and Whacky Dreams

You will have the weirdest dreams almost every single night. And by weird, we really mean weird. Picture the most bizarre situation you can imagine yourself in and multiply that into 10, that’s how vivid your dreams will be. Oh, and they feel totally real, which might make you think you’re going insane. So prepare for some cold sweats and sleepless nights.

4. Handy Underwear

A lot of pregnant women tend to keep extra underwear by their side because of discharge. Some people and website may tell you that you’ll have a small amount of discharge, but in reality, that small amount is quite a bit. After all, your hormones are going nuts, and you’re going to be sweating like a pig.

5. Anger Management

A lot of women say that “pregnancy can drive to you to kill.” More often than not you will get extremely angry at the smallest and silliest things. Howling dogs, bawling children, and skinny women will all feel your wrath. However, the anger will pass so don’t worry. Well, until it rears its ugly head again.

6. Belly and Boobs

Your tummy and chest obviously get a lot rounder and bigger. The latter is a positive thing for a lot of women. However, they’re going to be sweaty, and they’re going to make you feel fat. Oh, but let’s not forget about how random people will be dying to touch your belly while you secretly want them to step away.

We hope you aren’t too irked with pregnancy and childbirth! Remember that, however, tough your pregnancy may seem, you are the proud mom of an adorable little bundle of joy.
