However, in real life too, she’s no different. Just like Piku, she simply adores her parents. But, it was her bravely coming out with her suffering from depression that proved she was no less than a warrior in real life. Not only did she raise awareness about mental health issues, she even started a foundation on her own called Live. Love. Laugh. Her foundation extends help to people suffering from depression and other mental health issues. Kudos to this Wonder Woman!

Yes, we’re talking about ‘the’ Lilly Singh, the famous Canadian actress of Indian origin who is also a comedienne and a TV hostess. But it is her stint as “Super Woman” on her YouTube channel of the same name that has made her a household name. At a personal level, though, Lilly has successfully leveraged her new-found fame to speak up about the challenges she faced for being a woman of color. Add to that, she also brazenly announced to the world that she was bisexual. This triggered a deluge of happy responses from her friends and fans alike who praised her for the tremendous courage she has shown. She surely won a lot more fans from the LGBTQ community as well, we’re sure. Way to go, Lilly!

The fact that Brie Larson is a fabulous actress doesn’t come as a surprise. After winning an Oscar for her role in the movie, Room, she was suddenly in huge demand in Hollywood. So much so that she ended up bagging the role of Captain Marvel, a superhero franchise. However, Brie Larson quickly used her fame to highlight gender and race equality issues. She has often spoken up about equal representation of women as well as women and men of color in all spheres. During her promotional events for the Captain Marvel movie as well as Avengers: Endgame, Larson called out the media for the lack of female representation as well as from people of color at such press events. Despite being trolled for her remarks, she continues to take a stand for her beliefs. Here’s saluting the original Captain!

In the series, she played a hard-hitting yet compassionate agent who believes in saving her country from extremist threats. It was her sensitive portrayal of this character which won her a million more fans. In 2016, she was appointed the UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. But not many of us know that she was actually associated with the organization for more than a decade before that. Her commitment to championing child rights globally was what prompted her appointment. She recently visited school children in Ethiopia to highlight their plight and get worldwide attention to better their lives. Just like her onscreen character, in real life too Priyanka is a true believer in serving the larger humanity, irrespective of race or religion.
