Ruslaan Mumtaz Shares How His Baby Kept Him Busy In Quarantine, Says It Was The Right Time For Kid

Navigating pregnancy and parenthood in the face of a pandemic can be challenging in a lot of ways. But that hasn’t stopped celebrity couples from embracing parenthood in the year 2020. And the recent celebrity couple to join the bandwagon is none other than Indian film and television actor Ruslaan Mumtaz and his wife Nirali Mehta. Ruslaan and Nirali became parents to a baby boy towards the end of March this year. The actor broke the news of their baby boy by sharing an image from the hospital with the caption, “Chota baby has arrived”.

In an interview with a leading entertainment portal, the actor talked about how his baby kept him busy during the pandemic and resuming work post the lockdown. Talking about his experience of quarantine, the actor revealed that his baby made it pretty fun for him. Ruslaan said that the bond with his baby only grew stronger since he got to spend so much time with him. He further said that it is the best time to have kids since he got more time to be involved with his family, and feels that everything worked out perfectly for them. The new dad also stated that getting a job during the lockdown balanced everything out for him in terms of work and spending time with his baby.

Talking about his plans on resuming work, the actor said that he has been getting a few offers, but had to reject it since they were being shot at different locations. Ruslaan feels that unlike a film, a TV show is a much safer bet right now since it would be shot at a fixed location. The actor further stated that he had refused offers to do web series and a movie right now since he feels that it could wait and shooting right now would be risky.

The actor went on to explain about the new work culture and how it made him realize he was living in a bubble for so long. Working amidst a global pandemic has definitely brought upon a few major changes in the way things are run. Ruslaan doesn’t miss the way things functioned at his previous shoots as he feels that the new set-up is a lot more efficient with 50% less people on the sets. The actor revealed that he had a driver and a spot before, but has now come to realize that he doesn’t really need them and had kept them only to feel like a star. The new dad further said that he now drives on his own, carries his own bag, heats up his food, packs it up, and comes back home.

Ruslaan and his wife welcomed baby Rayaan on 26th March 2020. In his Instagram post, the actor wrote, “I genuinely do believe that babies born in times when the world is going through a rough patch come here for a reason. So I’m hoping my chota baby is a super hero born in difficult times and in time will make this world even more beautiful than it already is.”

Ruslaan met his wife Nirali at Shiamak Davar’s dance class. The actor revealed that he didn’t notice Nirali for almost a month despite being in the same class. But Cupid struck one day when Nirali turned her head and their eyes locked. It was love at first sight. The couple tied the knot in a grand Gujarati wedding in March 2014.
