Tell-Tale Signs That You Are Trapped In A Baby Bubble

After waiting for nine months, you had your precious little one, and you cannot help but adore your baby. Despite the sleepless nights and dirty diapers that have become a part of your life, your kids are inevitably the center of your world. Before you became parents, you had probably told yourself that you wouldn’t be like the rest of your friends who have kids. You will make time to socialize and have a life apart from your kids. You told yourself that you’d keep the romance alive in your relationship, and not let your baby’s cries and nappies get in the way. But without realizing it, your baby has probably become your whole world. Here are 5 tell-tale signs that prove that you are trapped in a baby bubble:

You know that you’re stuck in your baby bubble when you have no clue about what’s happening with the world outside. You have no time to tune into the news and catch up on current affairs when you’re in bed by 8 pm every night. You spend every waking hour by your baby’s side catering to his/her needs that you constantly miss out on watching your favorite basketball team play. Tough life, huh?

2. You Say Goodbye To Telly Time

Don’t we all love to binge-watch our favorite TV show for the 10th time? But when you’re a parent, you give that up because you don’t have the luxury of time. Your evenings are filled with bathtime, feeding time, and lullaby time. Before you realize your baby is fast asleep, so are you. After a long day filled with baby adventures, you fall asleep as soon as you hit the bed. So now, not only do you not have time to binge-watch shows, but you don’t know who is alive or dead anymore in your favorite TV show.

3. You Shop Till You Drop But Not For You

You might be a borderline shopaholic, but if you don’t remember the last time you bought something pretty for yourself, you’re a new parent. You’re continually shopping and getting online deliveries at your doorstep, but none is for you! It’s all the baby essentials, baby clothing, cribs, toys, and nappies that you have to stock up on while taking care of your little munchkin.

4. You Find It Completely Normal To Obsess About Poop

That’s right, parents! You know exactly what I’m talking about! You pay close attention to what comes out of your baby every day, even multiple times a day. The texture, color, smell, and even frequency matters to you. Who would have ever thought that seeing poop every day will make you happy? Well, parenting does come with a whole lot of surprises!

5. You Are Terrified Of Being Carriers Of Bugs

When you have a baby at home, you are always aware of what you’re touching or who you are in contact with. You don’t want to carry home the flu and infect your baby with it. Especially in times like these, the last thing you want is to be infected with a virus that could be fatal to your baby’s well being. So you carry sanitizers and face masks with you everywhere you go. You might even be wary of who comes to visit you or your baby because you are not aware of what they could be carrying with them (bug-wise).

As a parent, you probably would have told yourself things like you would be a different parent and not get lost in the universe of parenting and babies. But you get sucked into this vortex of babies because you love your little munchkins way too much.

Your life inevitably revolves around them, and you know it. You even feel yourself getting lost in all this parenting, but you don’t care because your baby is the center of your universe, and nothing comes in the way of that. Do you relate to this article? If so, share it with your friends!
