The life of a mother is not easy. From the moment one becomes a mother, she spends her entire life devoted to caring for as well as worrying about her children. As we know, it takes a village to raise a child. Sometimes, however, life forces some mothers into doing it alone due to reasons such as divorce. But women are made of tough stuff. We made a list of celebrity mothers who raised beautiful daughters without a husband. Take a look.
1. Babita Kapoor – Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan

Babita was a successful actress when she gave up acting to become a mother. She and her husband Randhir Kapoor separated a few years after the birth of their second daughter, Kareena. Not only did Babita raise her two daughters all by herself, but also they both became successful actors later and made a name for themselves as actors in Bollywood.
2. Sarika – Shruti Haasan And Akshara Haasan

The world knows Kamal Haasan for his acting abilities, but the mother of his children, Sarika, is equally talented. Sarika began her acting career at a young age before taking a break from acting for almost two decades. She separated from Kamal Haasan a few years into their marriage and raised their daughters herself. The daughters, Shruti Haasan and Akshara Haasan are successful actors themselves and also seem close to their father.
3. Karisma Kapoor And Samaira Kapoor

Karisma stole India’s heart through hits films such as Raja Hindustani. She got married to Sanjay Kapur, but their marriage ended in 2014, after 11 years. They have a daughter and a son who live with their mother. Karisma proved to be a good, doting mother to her children, much like her own mother, Babita. As she wrote on Mother’s Day, “From one strong mother to another.”
4. Raveena Tandon – Pooja Tandon And Chhaya Tandon

Raveena Tandon made our hearts beat in tune with her dance moves at the peak of her career. She also adopted her first two daughters when she was a successful actor, despite many warnings that it could end her career prematurely. At a time when being a single mother was not in vogue, she adopted her daughters, Pooja and Chhaya, aged 11 and 8, respectively, at the time.
5. Sushmitha Sen – Renee And Alisah Sen

Sushmita Sen has always made us proud, be it by bringing home the Miss Universe title or through her exceptional work in Indian cinema. In a rather controversial move, she adopted a baby girl, called Renee, in 2000, and her second daughter, Alisah, in 2010. Sen has never been married.
6. Amritha Singh – Sara Ali Khan

Amrita Singh was active in Bollywood cinema before her marriage to Saif Ali Khan. Their first child, Sara, was born in 1995, and their son, Ibrahim, a few years later. The couple got divorced shortly after, and Amrita Singh received custody of the kids. Sara Ali Khan is now a rising star in Bollywood. Her resemblance to her mother is striking, not only in appearance but also in her style of acting.
7. Shwetha Tiwari – Palak Tiwari

Shwetha Tiwari is a familiar face to most Indian families. She was the lead actor of the popular series, Kasautii Zindagii Kay. She ended her first marriage, which was abusive, and got the custody of her daughter Palak. As she says on her Instagram bio, she is the world’s proudest mom. Her children, especially Palak, possess her charm and beauty, and that ought to make her proud. She has grown into a beautiful young woman, ready to soar high.
Being a mother is a beautiful feeling. However, it is not necessarily an easy journey. The mothers we talked about here fought all odds to protect their kids.
