Smriti Khanna Reveals How She Had Dealt With A Troll Who Said 'Tere Bacche Ko Corona Ho Jaye'

Trolls can be defined as anonymous cowards spreading their hate through negative comments online. At some point in our life, we have all been victims of trolls on social media. Some of these comments are benign and can be easily ignored. However, others can be quite malignant and vicious, which leaves one with almost no possible option than to retaliate.

As a celebrity, actress Smriti Khanna has been subjected to trolls on different occasions. When the actress became a mum and got back to shape within 2 weeks, she was body-shamed by these haters. The actress revealed with a mirror selfie that she has indeed delivered a child. She even disclosed that she had maintained her routine of yoga even during the pregnancy. Additionally, the actress used to take regular walks when she was pregnant. Despite indulging in her cravings, the actress retained a healthy diet throughout her pregnancy.

This was not the first time a celebrity was body-shamed about her post-pregnancy figure. Actresses like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and Sameera Reddy have been trolled before due to their body shape post-pregnancy. Each of these actresses has spoken out about the unrealistic expectations from a woman’s anatomy post-birth and shut down these trolls for good. Smriti Khanna was no different. She reached out to her trolls to point out the baby-cot in the background which is an irrelevant object in a house without a baby.

The actress, known for her role of Ritika Zaveri in the series Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi, tells us how she had to read the negative comments of her trolls for every minute change in her life. The actress was trolled during her pregnancy for wearing nail polish or changing the color of hair. Smriti Khanna responded to the trolls saying that she was well aware of these concerns, and as a pregnant mother, she has done her due research on how to proceed under these circumstances.

Despite being a seasoned responder to trolls, Smriti Khanna was appalled by one of the trolls’ horrific comment on her Instagram. The troll commented that “Tere Bacche Ko Corona Ho Jaye”. In English, it can be translated to “Hope your child gets the Corona”. With the ongoing pandemic we are facing, one can do very little to hold their calm for long. In a recent interview, the actress opened up about how terrifying and confusing it was for her to receive such a comment. She pointed out that she knows these trolls are frustrated and has a habit of forcing their opinions on things they have no information about. Although the actress has been subjected to negative comments before, Smriti Khanna was quite taken back by this insensitive comment. She admits that it is hard not to feel bad about such comments. Those who follow her on Instagram would know that Smriti Khanna also has the best comebacks to the trolls, but then she regrets wasting her time on something so meaningless.

Living a happy married life with co-star Gautam Gupta, the actress keeps sharing glimpses of her life to the delight of her followers. When their little angel was born, the actress shared the news of her arrival by sharing a picture of the happy family in the hospital room. She also shared a video of her husband dancing to a jazz tune with his new dance partner. The happy daddy glided across the room as the happy baby laid coddled in his arms. It was a heartwarming video especially during these dark times of COVID-19.

We hope the couple continues to share more snippets about the hum-drum life of a celebrity family without paying heed to the cowardly, mean trolls.
