Kids love to play dress-up, and this is the perfect opportunity to seize that moment. You can dress them up as little Radha and little Krishna. There are plenty of available options for the costumes, crowns, and jewelry to make your kids look adorable. When they are dressed up and ready to pose, you cannot take your eyes off them. Plus, you can get some Insta-worthy pictures too.

2. Footsteps Rangoli Designs

Our personal favorite is the rangoli design that depicts Lord Krishna’s entrance into the world. Draw a rangoli and make tiny footsteps of baby Krishna entering your home with nothing but using the shape of your hands and fingers. It’s easy to make and looks very cute. You can make different sizes at different entrances to your house.

3. DIY Festive Crafts

Lord Krishna is associated with many elements like feathers, flutes, and curd pots. Let’s not forget his eternal love for butter! You can bring your kids together and teach them different DIY art and craft ideas to make flutes, feathers, and curd pots. Besides, they even get to learn stories about Lord Krishna.

4. Story Time

Kids love stories, and what’s a better time than this to tell them stories of Lord Krishna? You could organize a storytelling event where each kid can narrate one story of Lord Krishna while the others listen. Your neighbors’ kids, nieces, nephews, and others will have a fun time preparing for this. You could also have a small prize for the kid who narrated the best story at the end of it.

5. Decorate Dahi Handi

Lord Krishna was a naughty child, but his charm and childlike innocence won over everyone’s heart. He loved butter so much that he gathered his friends and stole butter from the curd pots. So to remember this, your kids can paint and decorate clay pots while listening to stories of Lord Krishna’s mischiefs.

6. Act It Out

A fun and informative way to spend this festival is by learning all about Lord Krishna. But kids get bored quickly. So, you could help them enact a skit taking specific incidents from Lord Krishna’s life. You can even dress them up in relevant costumes based on the characters they play. It would not only make them happy but also keep the elders of the house entertained.

7. Hit It

Taking inspiration from the Pinata game, you could organize a similar one where you hang a curd pot filled with buttermilk. Have your kids stand in safe distances from each other and smash the pot. If you don’t want to create a lot of mess, you could add chocolates and toffees in the pot instead of buttermilk.

Festivals are a great time to strengthen the relationship with your family and friends. Getting your kids involved with the festival of Krishnashtami by including them in the decoration, puja, and even cooking traditional sweets and dishes will make them fall in love with the festival.
