Congratulations are in order as actors Sumeet Vyas and Ekta Kaul welcomed the newest member of their family — a baby boy. The Veere Di Wedding actor took to his Instagram handle to share the happy news with everyone. The post read “It’s a boy. Shall be called VED. Mamma and daddy are acting cliche… smothering the child every few minutes…” The actor revealed that they have named him Ved and have already started to act cliche by smothering their little one every few minutes. The post garnered over 80k likes in just a few hours and congratulations started pouring in from their friends and followers alike.

The actor has been preparing for the arrival of the little one by decorating their house in full swing. Sumeet’s sister Sruthi Vyas had also joined in to help with the decorations to give the baby a grand welcome. Ekta has previously revealed that her mother would also be around to help with the baby. The actress also informed that while she had picked out the girl’s name, Sumeet had decided the boy’s name.

The actress recently shared a video post for her husband by creating a beautiful compilation of images of their journey which included pictures from their wedding day. Ekta wrote, “Our world is about to change. But my life has changed because of you. I am so thankful that we get to go on this ride together. So before all the screaming and diaper changing begins, I just want to say PAPA you are beautiful. Thank you !!”
The couple broke the news of their pregnancy earlier in April with a quirky caption. In the post, Ekta revealed that they are expecting Jr. Kaul Vyas soon. Pregnancy during quarantine can be stressful. Addressing the same in an earlier interview, the couple talked about how they are dealing with it together. The actor opened up about how his wife cannot afford to have mood swings or pregnancy cravings amid lockdown since he won’t be able to get anything that she demands. Sumeet also said how the duo has been taking quarantine seriously by staying inside their home at all times. The only time they go out is to take a walk outside their building which they do once a week. He further revealed how no visitors were allowed and how the police have been very understanding since she was pregnant.

In an interview with a leading news portal, the actor also opened up about what we could take away from the current situation and how the lessons learned from this lockdown will help us evolve as human beings and how it would help the actor be a better father. Sumeet further stated how it had happened for a reason and if we don’t realize it, it would be of no use. Elaborating on the same, the actor stated that it is an ideal time to question our ways of living on this planet by consuming everything that comes our way without giving back to nature.

For those of you who are not aware, the couple tied the knot in a traditional wedding ceremony in 2018. Ekta has worked on popular Hindi serials including Bade Acche Lagte Hai whereas Sumeet has worked on the web series Permanent Roommates and TVF Tripling. He also played the role of Kareena’s fiance in the Ekta Kapoor production, Veere Di Wedding.
