I have wonderful memories of all my summers as a kid – ice-creams, delicious mangoes, endless lemonades, and above all the outings during summer holidays.
But now as a mother, I’m not too keen on welcoming the hot season because my baby is more important than my fun trips during summer. I’m worried about my little one’s well being when I am travelling.
If your thoughts resonate with mine, then you need to know the summer must-haves for your babies. Be it that holiday destination, or the beach, or just the neighbourhood park, make sure your baby has these summer essentials when you are going out.
- Summer wear: Stock up your babies’ wardrobe with loads of lightweight cotton onesies, knickers, shorts, and skirts. Buy soft and smooth clothes that your baby will just love wearing.
- Baby bouncer with a zip: A bouncer with the zip works great when at the beach or the park. At least you don’t have to worry about the bugs biting him.
- Sunglasses: It is worth buying them. Choose those bright colored shades that will make your babies look cool. It also keeps eyes cool and protects them from the sun.
- Toys: If you are hitting outdoors, just carry along these toys: dump trucks, hidepools, and rattles. Playing bubble game is their favorite. So, surprise your baby with a super bubbly fun.
- Caps/long hats: Caps are a must to protect your little one’s head from the scorching heat. Long hats are even better, as they provide shade and babies can have a gala time getting some nice shade while out under the sun.
- Play tent: Whether it’s at home or outside, simply carry them with you. It’s light, and babies simply love playing under the tent.
- Portable high chair: Trust me this comes handy when you are out on holiday. You will be glad you carried it along. You don’t have to wait for the waiter to get a high-chair each time you dine out.
- Car seat: Car seat is, of course, mandatory, but if you find yourself going out a lot everywhere, protect your baby from ultraviolet rays with canopy covers.
- Babies travel bag: Pack your babies’ stuff in this bag from clothes to accessories. It will encompass it all.
- Booties: Booties will prevent tanning and burning their tiny feet. Make sure you have a pack of them.
- Prickly heat powder: Summers bring with them the prickly heat. Though this seems to be a common-sense thing one should have during summers, we most often miss out on it. A good prickly heat powder does the trick of vanishing the sun burns like magic.
- Rolling mat: Are you wondering why do babies need a mat during summer? Babies just love to roll, crawl, and run. Though a rolling mat confines his play area, but get him habituated to playing on a rolling mat.
- Swim suit: A summer is never complete without a dip in the pool or beach. So, get your babies’ those swim suits and other swim accessories.
Be summer ready and don’t let the sun stop you from having all the fun! With your baby well taken care of, you should have little to worry about!
