On 28th August 2020, actress Sushmita Sen took to her social media handle to pen down a beautiful post for her second daughter Alisah, wishing her happy birthday. The actress wrote, “Happy Birthday love of my life!!! We are 11 years old today!! From the moment our eyes met…we could speak..a language of our own!!” Sushmita also shared several pictures of her little angel on her Instagram handle, taking us on a trip down memory lane. The actor posted images of Alisah from her early years as a baby and toddler to the smart beautiful girl she is now. The actress also shared a heartwarming image of her two daughters with her boyfriend, Rohman Shawl whom she has been dating for two years.

In her post, Sushmita calls her daughter magical and refers to her as her little angel. Sushmita also expresses her gratitude and says that it is a privilege to be a mother to her 11-year-old. She ends her post by writing, “I love you infinity Alisah Shona!!! #partytime #godsfavouritechild #birthdaygirl #blessed #duggadugga Maa, Renee didi.” Sushmita also has a 20-year-old daughter, Renee.

The 44-year-old actress stands as an inspiration for millions ever since she won the coveted Miss Universe title in 1994. At the age of 24, the actress adopted her first daughter Renee in 2000, proving that you don’t have to be married to adopt a child. 10 years later, she adopted her second daughter Alisah, whom she was able to adopt after a long legal battle of 10 years as the Indian law doesn’t allow adopting a girl child for the second time. The actress however was determined to go through the tedious process and legality of it all to bring home her little one.

Talking to a leading news portal, the former Miss Universe revealed that adopting her daughter was not an act of charity, rather she was trying to protect herself. The actress said that her decision to adopt Renee and Alisah is the wisest decision she ever made and they helped bring some stability into her life. The actress further said that though she is not their biological mother and they didn’t have an umbilical cord connection, she is connected to her daughters by a much higher power, her heart. Opening up about the same in an event held in Hyderabad, the Main Hoon Na actress said that she has given birth to her daughters from her heart and felt lucky to have experienced the joy of motherhood twice.
