The world has come to a standstill amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. Doctors, nurses, and hospital staff are working endlessly round the clock to ensure the safety of every individual. And the only way we can support and honor their work is by staying indoors and practice social distancing. Staying at home is the one thing that we could do as responsible citizens to help save humanity at this crucial time. People all over the world have been sticking to social distancing and staying at home, spending quality time with their family and loved ones. And our Bollywood celebrities have taken to their Instagram handles to post pictures and videos of their quarantine time.
Recently, Bollywood actor, Hrithik Roshan took to his Instagram handle to share a picture of his ex-wife which threw light about the situation of families with separated parents. Hrithik shared the post as a way of expressing his gratitude towards his ex-wife, Sussanne who has temporarily moved in with the actor so that their kids can be with both their parents at this vulnerable time.

On March 25, 2020, the actor took to his social media page to share a picture of Sussanne Khan relaxing on his couch with a cup of beverage in her hand. Along with the image, the actor wrote a heartfelt note about the current situation. Hrithik begins his post by saying that he can’t imagine how hard it must be for people to stay away from their kids during such trying times when the whole nation is under lockdown. Looking at the positive side of things, he continues his post by saying how heartwarming it is to watch the entire world be united at these uncertain times when people would have to practice social distancing for months and not to mention, potential lockdowns in the future.

In the second part of his post, the actor sheds some much-needed light on parents who share joint custody of their children. The actor further wrote: “How to keep their kids close to them without infringing on the right of the other who also has an equal right to be with his/her children.” Expressing his gratitude towards ex-wife, Sussanne Khan, Hrithik Roshan thanked her for being an amazing co-parent, and also for being so understanding and supportive. Sharing a pic of his wife, the actor says how she has graciously offered to temporarily move in with him so that their kids are not indefinitely separated from either one of them. He further states that his kids will grow up and tell the stories they create for them as parents. Concluding his post on a positive note, the actor hopes that every one of us can find it in our heart to be loving, empathetic, and courageous to protect ourselves and our dear ones.
The actor had previously taken to Instagram to help spread the message of social distancing and safe hygiene to curb the spread of the outbreak. In the video, he talks about the three steps to stop the further spread of coronavirus. The first step being handwashing, i.e. washing hands with soap and water frequently, the second step being social distancing and maintaining 6 feet distance from each other and staying at home instead of going out for parties or meeting friends. He also urges everyone to make use of messaging and video calls to stay in touch with their loves ones.

In the last few weeks, we have seen many celebrities coming forward urging their fans to practice social distancing and maintain hygiene. Some have shared pictures of spending quality time with their kids during self-quarantine. However, Hrithik’s post stands out as it is the first time somebody has drawn attention to the topic of those families with parents sharing their kids custody. We hope that the actor’s post holds as an inspiration to others in a similar situation, and give them the strength to take the required course of action with love and empathy.
