You start thinking, “Okay, I have been reading every baby book there is. But I dozed off reading half of those baby books. And I’ve got zero experience. Am I ready to take care of a baby?” You start beating yourself up for not reading enough books or being more prepared.

“Did I pack my insurance card and phone charger? I should have double-checked my hospital bag before leaving the house. It definitely feels like I missed something.” But trust us, it wouldn’t matter once the contractions start to kick in and you are in labor. It wouldn’t matter if you missed your cozy socks or your comfy pillow. You will want to get it over with and will probably end up swearing at your husband for doing this to you.
