Kriti Sanon, who plays the lead in the movie, took to Instagram to share updates about the upcoming film. For about a week or so, the actress has been updating her Instagram profile with glimpses of the movie. In one post that she put up, Kriti wrote in her caption, saying expect the extraordinary from the ordinary. It created quite a buzz on the internet, and fans, audiences, and movie buffs were eagerly waiting for the trailer of the film.
The movie’s tagline says, “Nothing like you’re expecting”, and the trailer lived up to the hype. It features actors Kriti Sanon, Pankaj Tripathi, and Rakesh Krushna Joshi in lead roles. The Bollywood drama film, directed by Laxman Utekar, is a family entertainer that brings humor and delight to the screen while talking about heavy topics like surrogacy and religion.
The film revolves around a small-town girl named Mimi (played by Kriti Sanon), who is offered ₹20 lakhs to be a surrogate mother to an American couple. She is convinced by the middleman, played by Tripathi, and is all set to bear a child. The film beautifully shows how worried Mimi is about facing her parents with a belly, and she makes arrangements to hide her baby bump from her parents. With a light-hearted take on society’s judgments, the film touches upon the struggles of a surrogate mother in a conservative society.
The three-minute trailer shows how the American couple retracts from the deal leaving Mimi in a fix. They refuse to accept the child, which unravels a lot of drama from Mimi’s family because they believe that she is having the baby out of wedlock. What follows is accusations, cries, and traces of religious rivalry that leave audiences intrigued to find out how the film ends.

During an interview with a popular news portal, Kriti spoke about the film. She said that it’s not a serious film and doesn’t follow a preachy narrative. The film is on surrogacy, but it highlights many other aspects of life and showcases several ups and downs. Kriti also promoted her film on Twitter, Instagram, and other platforms. The actress pursued engineering and worked as a model before making it to the big screen. She debuted in the Bollywood film Heropanti in 2014, after which she went on to make several other films.
Another highlight of the film is that its music is composed by none other than the legendary A.R. Rahman.
