What Do Pregnancy Gender Dreams Reveal

Pregnancy is a time for weird things. Those hunger pangs, that not-so-morning sickness, and that irritating ol’ edema. Everything is engineered for a brilliant, bittersweet, and, yet immensely, satisfying experience. One of the odd things that typically happens when you’re expecting is the vivid dreams.

Many moms don’t believe in those dreams about cute little flower-printed dresses or those decidedly cute onesies, which hint at a baby’s gender. But, many other moms do. So, what should one make of those pregnancy gender dreams? Are they for real? Or are they, like most other dreams, a simple extension of our choices and beliefs? Hold on to those questions, because we are about to answer them here.

One first-time mom talked about her experience of dreaming about a cute little chubby baby girl, with sleek brown hair. However, a couple of ultrasounds later, the OB/GYN confirmed that she was going to have a boy. Although happy, she still couldn’t believe that it was going to be a male child. The dreams had been very lucid and rather convincing. In fact, they almost felt like harbingers of the future.

So, when she did go into labor, and she delivered her child, she checked between his legs to confirm that it was a boy. And, this lady continued to have the same dreams for three consecutive pregnancies and gave birth to four boys. When she finally did stop having those dreams about a cute little chubby girl with dark hair, she learnt that she was about to have a daughter.

And, this mom could hardly believe her luck. But, surprisingly, she did not see those dreams about having a daughter during her fifth pregnancy, when she was pregnant with a girl child.
So, what this experience tells us is that baby gender dreams aren’t to be trusted.

But before concluding, read what some other women have to say. These are a few things they had said about pregnancy gender dreams:

1. Mom 2: “I thought it was going to be a girl until the end of my term. But, right before my labor, I dreamed I was cooing to this cute little boy. And, when I went into labor, I gave birth to a boy.”

2. Mom 3: “I dreamed of having a cute little girl with baby blonde hair some days before I gave birth. And, now she is 3-years-old, baby blonde and beautiful.”

4. Mom 4: “I hope I don’t give birth to a dinosaur because that’s what I’ve been dreaming about.”

So, while mom number 4 takes a funny perspective to this argument, the jury is still out. There is no way of ensuring or accurately predicting whether you’ll have a boy or a girl depending on how you interpret those vivid and seemingly real dreams.
