If you haven’t known already, it’s World Breastfeeding Week, ladies! Every year it is celebrated from 1st August to 7th August to highlight the importance of breastfeeding and educate everyone on how the liquid gold is all your baby needs during the first 6 months of their life. The WHO encourages women to provide exclusive breastfeeding during the initial 6 months. Breastfeeding is a natural and emotional experience for every mom, and this includes our Bollywood celeb moms as well. Aishwarya Rai Bachchan

Aishwarya received a lot of flak from weight-watchers after giving birth to her precious one, Aradhya in 2011. But rather than hitting the gym or following crash diets to fit into those skinny jeans, she set her priorities straight. She continued to breastfeed her daughter for a long time and made sure neither of them compromised on their nutritional needs.

She also challenged the stigma surrounding breastfeeding and motherhood by sharing a beautiful picture of breastfeeding her son, Zack. In her post, she talks about the struggles and importance of breastfeeding and the bonding time that she gets to share with her little one.

She is a mother to Zain Kapoor and Misha Kapoor and has been vocal and extremely religious about breastfeeding her kids. She believes it’s the greatest gift one can give to their baby.

Sonali Bendre

Sonali Bendre, who is battling cancer with utmost bravery has also shared her views on breastfeeding. She says that there is no hard and fast rule when it comes to deciding when and how to wean your baby off breast milk. She says that each child is different and your baby book may not have all the answers. She advises on trying out different approaches and techniques to find what’s best for you and your baby.

Lara Dutta, who is married to Mahesh Bhupati, is a proud mom to 6-year-old Saira. The former actress and Miss Universe says that being a mother also comes with great responsibility, and hopes she can create awareness about the importance of breastfeeding. She always credits breastfeeding to toning her body after giving birth.
